Gave up waiting and just called the 0800 number. Surprisingly got through pretty quickly and got the question answered, as well as updating the 4 digit PIN to what I thought it should have been. Should have just done that this morning instead of spending all day faffing about trying to get the account details verified over whatsapp!

This faffing around is why many people use the same PIN or password across multiple sites.

Not supposed to write the PINS or passwords down , or need to use a password manager, etc.

Banks , telecoms, power companies,  building entries,  etc.

Many people would just use a notes app on their phone to list their passwords.

I guess 1 step up from a sticky note, but not by much.

Supermarket shoppers who leave their trolley to block shelves while they walk to a different shelf to get what they're interested in.

Supermarket shoppers with trolleys who think aisles are a great place to have a conversation with someone they haven't seen in a while.

Supermarket shoppers who need several members in their group to make a decision, blocking shelves.

Supermarket shoppers that take the whole family and have the kids all holding onto the trolley blocking up aisles. Apparently its a thing they tell the kids so they dont wander off but its really annoying.

And people who obstruct steps by treating them as a seat.

Having an intermittently faulty POE Ethernet Switch and having to wait for it's replacement to arrive!

(Finally isolated to it at 9pm last night!.....and it is out of warranty of course.)

Hopefully PBTech won't be too long.

If its a unifi one then they seem to be known for cooking the inbuilt power supply. I have 2 24 port  16 port ones that have failed now. I have one running as a non POE switch by using an old 48v brick from a cisco phone to run it, but as soon as anything tried to take power from it the PSU couldn't deliver and shut down.

Really should get around to sourcing some new power supplies for them.

Edit: they are actually 16 port. I cant count.

A persistent rattle that sounds like a loose cable striking the frame on my eBike.
Cannot isolate the cause.

Not annoying enough to take to the bike shop about.

Elevator etiquette:

Don't get into the elevator before it's empty.

Let people get out of the elevator by moving away from directly in front of the door.

Ask people which floor they want to go to when the elevator is full (or not full) if you're standing in front of the button panel.

Complete your conversation after you get out instead of staying in the elevator when you've reached your floor.

Check which floor you've landed on before exiting the elevator.

Windows 11 (new laptop, just upgraded).

Everything worked on Friday.

Now I have a litany of issues.

Snipping tool seems to have deleted itself, but I don't have permission to download it. I use it all the time.
Editing a document, then sharing it by email - seems that it doesn't save a copy of the email in my sent items, nor does it keep a copy of the edited doc in a temp folder anywhere.
Recipients of said email are not receiving it.
Not ideal when we are collaborating on documents and adding/editing content. I guess that's why people use sharepoint or whatever it's called these days.

People taking the piss with their carry on bags. Wheelie bag and backpack and handbag dragging down the aisle banging into everyone’s shoulders then holding everyone up while they faff around trying to fit all their crap into an overhead bin.
Air NZ just don’t seem to care unlike Jetstar who strictly enforce carry on limits.

The snipping tool issue sounds windows store related. Email, which program?

Both also sound similar to potential corrupt profile scenarios.

Instead of fighting the battle I'd suggest using the windows 11 wipe feature. That will have you starting with a clean 11 install and eliminating all possible upgrade related issues. Else you could logon as admin and delete your profile then log in again. Data loss in warnings apply..

Having flown domestically for a decade, usually 2-4 times a month I'd always wonder why they didn't just either get rid of overhead altogether so it was your legroom you used. Or have the overhead divided into the slots with your seat number.
