A recent update to one of my apps changed its icon from white to purple. I now have two purple icons in my dock and I keep clicking the wrong one!
Helping someone remotely with their PC when the ugly new tab page comes up, full of all the MSN junk. Guy thinks I’m reading the news paper not helping him out
Cheek of it.
My coffee machine came back from a service with the stupid "eco" mode enabled. If I wanted to use it I would have had it enabled. I want to be able to walk up and make a coffee when the machine is on, not wait 5 minutes while it warms up again.
I have a smart plug to manage the power use, not the stupid, likely EU mandated, eco mode.

Some people buy EU junk and then complain about it, others buy a quality New Zealand product from a reputable manufacturer and are happy. Still others are simply unhappy when they can't find someone to blame who isn't responsible for their serious problem. Remember, the British always blamed everything on the EU in a populist and unthinking manner... now they're rid of it. 😁

I curse the EU when I find my bluetooth speaker has powered off to save a few miliwatts because I have not played something for a while. Makes connecting one to a voice assistant speaker pointless. Worse, is the last little amplifier I got that was not a chinese cheapie does the same thing over its 3.5mm input. Ugh. Back to aliex for a cheap TP3116 thingie with analog volume and power switches that cant annoy.
Oh for the glory days when the servants always had some hot water ready for the bell to ring.
My small annoyances appeared at 6.30, 2 huge rats running down the top rail of the boundary fence. The house next-door was demolished a few years ago and the section has turned into a wilderness.

I have two Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 6 BT speakers that can form a stereo pair and pair up to the AppleTV which is great... apart from the random disconnects. I wish I could prevent that. It's not even idle-time based. Could be watching something when it happens.
I am just reading a headline article on RNZ about teachers and students feeling ‘uncomfortable’ about an exam question from a memoir by Adam Dudding, in which a bully demands that a long-haired boy drop his pants for a gender check.
What world do these people live in? What are they trying to protect kids from? Life? Is there something wrong with me because I think this is one of the stupidest things I have ever seen? That is what makes me feel uncomfortable. That our children are being raised as marshmallows. Yes, sexual bullying occurs. Yes, reading this might make a victim feel ‘uncomfortable’. Isn’t that part of growing up and learning to deal with the bad things that happen? Why should a school exam be divorced from reality? Any kid that might be triggered by something like this is going to be triggered by a lot of things.
Plesse igmore amd axxept applogies in adbance fir anu typos

"Create a society that values material things above all else. Strip it of industry. Raise taxes for the poor and reduce them for the rich and for corporations. Prop up failed financial institutions with public money. Ask for more tax, while vastly reducing public services. Put adverts everywhere, regardless of people's ability to afford the things they advertise. Allow the cost of food and housing to eclipse people's ability to pay for them. Light blue touch paper." — Andrew Maxwell

I am quite sure that the EU has nothing to do with it, because all my systems work properly and you can deactivate any ECO mode. If not, you should complain to China. 😉

I was watching a video about dishwashers earlier. "And the Energy Saver feature, how much energy does it actually save? None! And it also uses more water!"

Well, they must have got a lot of feedback about it, because in the most recent update they have restored the old icon!

You can read all the nonsense they force on manufacturers here - https://energy-efficient-products.ec.europa.eu/product-list/standby-networked-standby-and-mode_en
A wide range of equipment – audio and video equipment, microwave ovens and electric toys – can have standby and off modes.
- since 2009 these devices are required to switch to a low-power mode (such as standby) after a reasonable amount of time
- since 2013, they must not consume more than 0.5 Watts in standby or in off mode, or 1 Watt if they are on standby while displaying their status or information
I am also guessing this is why new microwaves have a clock so feebly lit up that its useless if there is any sun in the room.

Great exposé on the pod ripoff..
