gzt:Jase2985: Generally the signage states the time on them, if not time is displayed then its safe to assume its always a bus lane. Same deal with transit lanes. the number of people who dont know how they work is astonishing.
There's a bit more variation than that and it's not always easy to see the signs. If the condition was painted on the road at intervals that would be much better.
Even better would be some simple automatic visual indication.
To some extent it will be restrained a bit by the international standard. I expect there is some practical extra way to address the issue that does not conflict with the standard.

All the ones I have seen have been clear and repetitive. The variation is the time, but that's situational dependent.
