Jaxson:
MikeB4: Hopefully Amazon can manage them better and stop the garbage but I doubt it, they were at their usual rubbish in Australia recently.

That 'rubbish' was the show?

I'd suggest watching 5th Gear instead for example, or reading NZ Autocar etc if you want a more factual motoring experience.

They didn't become the most successful motoring show in the world reading the specs brochure and talking slowly through each slightly new plastic design change on this years version of the Toyota corolla...

I do read Auto Car and the Top Gear Magazine, I have watched 5th Gear and like it just wish it were available here

DizzyD:  I think Jeremy was just exercising his right to free speech. How DARE HIM!!!

Seriously? Please don't go there... this line really has really been done to death on this forum, to the extent I could write in my sleep how this thread would continue. Agree with Mike - take it elsewhere, as there is still an interesting aspect to this story, ie the signing of the three drongos to Amazon.

Speaking of which - I guess this signing is something that will make me think about taking out a Prime membership. When Amazon had that special Prime day a week or two back did they have a special deal on the cost of Prime membership? Generally, if it's ever on sale what price does it come down to?

$20 off. I believe because it's a Amazon Original Series (No digital rights to protect except their own), they may either make it free to view for everyone, or they will offer it free for a limited time and then charge for it, potentially as a cheap $1 per episode thing or something like that.

My concern is the physical location of where it will be held. England is obviously very close to most of Europe and they spent considerable time in Europe and also gave them access to the British and European cars they preferred to drive. If they are based in the US, I imagine a lot more American cars and locations.

I am wondering if they will perhaps still base it out of the UK.

BBC must be quaking in their boots, though unless the new Top Gear is complete rubbish I'll probably watch both.

With regards to the tweet, Well it was done in his personal capacity. Nothing to do with topgear so Im really unsure as to why it was brought into this discussion. As I was saying, How dare he!

I would pay good money to see the three of them continue just as they were. I loved topgear for exactly what it was. So do their fans. Topgear was Clarkson, being Clarkson.

I will give the new show an un-prejudged look when it launches, just have to work out how. I don't really want to subscribe to yet another service.

I will probably keep my Prime membership now. I was going to cancel it before it rebilled.

I think this actually does warrant a separate thread:

Or at least to change the title of this one, since it's not about Clarkson being sacked?

I would agree as well

Maybe change the title to maybe   'Jeremy Clarkson sacked from BBC and now joins Amazon'

After reading this and getting advice from other moderator, please discuss the trio joining Amazon here.
