Singles day buy up

Is that a thermal camera thingy? What's it like?

It looks like an infrared thermometer - I got one off Temu in their BF sales for about $12 - looks exactly the same.

I got one recently too. This Fluke unit was about $65.

But, I have been eyeing up the thermal cameras for fault finding. They seem to be more around $300 and up.

I have a thermal camera from AliExpress, about as basic as you can get (32x32 pixel resolution) similar to this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005297114573.html

Even though it's low resolution I find it incredibly useful for monitoring electronics, among other things. It tells you the spot temperature at the centre, as well as the max temp seen, and it seems to be very accurate.

It does suck the AAA batteries it runs on though, and if I was buying one now I'd probably go for a USB-C module for a phone, as you can't easily get an image off the cheaper dedicated ones.

Interesting! The linked unit costs $180 and has a rechargeable battery (allegedly).

Has anyone experienced AliExpress shippng using Aramex before?
About half my orders are using tracking code MX8000 which is of course Aramex, parcels are now "delayed" in their depot after landing in NZ, whilst NZ Post orders are coming through promptly.

First time I have ever seen Aramex being used via AliExpress and I'm not liking it.

Seems anything to a physical address gets the aramex treatment now, whereas to a po box gets an nz post sticker and delivered in a reasonable timeframe.

Aramex is fine to work, but to my house it gets left roadside by the new driver who appears to not give a s..t about doing his job.

I’ve had about 5 orders in the last month and all have been Nz Post. Though there is one which hasn’t been updated for ages… perhaps that’s the Aramex one…

Aramex has been delivering some of the AliExpress Standard routed packages for a while now. They seem to be running very late with their deliveries, even in areas where they say there are only minor delays in other suburbs. I had a cross-town package shipped via Aramex late last month that took several days (in addition to the weekend).

Expecting a package this afternoon, finally on board with the courier and only two days later than it should have been.

Amazon have also started using Aramex. Good to know the workaround with PO Boxes.

Only NZ Post can deliver to PO Boxes, so it's a safe bet.

Assuming you're using AliExpress shipping, smaller packages are mostly being delivered by Aramex at present, but it does vary a bit - a few have been delivered by NZ Post. Larger packages always seem to be routed via Singapore Post and are delivered by NZ Post. I had one which arrived a few days ago (10L ultrasonic cleaner) that had the tracking changed twice as it was over size. Ended up on Singapore Post EMS, which after arriving in Singapore, got here quicker than Aramex could get a package across town.

Yes, this is the issue I always have with Aramex, always lsigned by driver and left in my mailbox which is 100m from my door, NZ Post always come to my door.

Mine seems to be 50/50 now (Aramex/NZPost) I had a small package of zigbee sensors arrive via NZ Post so I am not sure if parcel size is a factor, I just found it strange since for myself its always been via NZ Post doing deliveries, big or small and as you say the Singapore Post.

Might need to pay closer attention to the sellers and their shipping options now.

nz post wont either, but at least that gets redirected to the PO Box.

Considering taking the mailbox down seriously now, or swapping it for a tiny one with no milk area or flat part on top that parcels can be left in/on.

Not much of an online shopper so thought id give it a go.

1x imitation crocs shoes

1x imitation vans slipons shoes

2x trays that sit between the front car seats and the gear lever tray to pop your phone and cards etc.

Imitation crocs are not made of that soft rubber material, more a rigid rubber like a bike tyre.  Very uncomfortable, useless.

Vans slipons are too small, I definitely entered my correct size and it says the correct size on the shoe, just not correct.   Gave them to my son.

2x trays are as advertised but not as useful as I thought they would be as they get in the way of the gear lever and the hand brake switch.

I am going to say a bust, wasted of $100.   Ah well, live and learn.   Probably first and last time, will stick to buying in NZ so I can see exactly what I'm buying.

I got them as well, from Temu.  It's useful on the passenger side but not so much on the driver side.
