Hmm, tried uploading this jpeg and it kept crashing out on me. Using my work computer and it seems fine so here is the pic

Compare that to my normal screen (off to the right) of brightness. No other youtube things I loved at were like this

That is how HDR videos play back, the white you see on non HDR stuff is just a mid grey level that SDR white gets mapped to.

I have no idea how to disable it on a mac to make it get tone mapped to SDR.

If you get stats for nerds on the video it will show more info on what colourspace its in. I cant recall what exactly it says as I have HDR off on all my computers as it never works right.

No one needs permission to speak about how they feel about the weather.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Storm water drains here are holding up but the constant sound of rain on the steel roof is starting to do my head in.

That sounds bliss.

24/7 migraine and Tinitus. I have a rain storm sound track I listen to, I find it very soothing.

Spending an hour and a half in traffic being my daughters chauffeur while stressing about being home on time for my 8pm call. Which of course got moved 5 minutes before the call.

Spent the night in a hotel. There was definitely someone in the room above me.

At least they were vertical noises.

That my Tempest Weather Station finally died totally today!

Oh well, it was rev 1.0 of the hardware and while I was looking (Before it totally died) I don't think it actually got many updates pushed to it.

It was my first foray into a Kickstarter Project.....and I'm unlikely to do one again.

Now an "ornament" on the roof for the birds to land on. (I'm banned from climbing ever again)

Mine died when it was on a pole down at ground level before I even got around to installing it. Totally full of water inside it and some of the einsteins tried to blame it being on a pole jammed into the ground for testing it out as being why it filled with water.

… as in ambulatory rather than amatory. But amatory is shorter.

Bung:

Do you have tilt-a-door style doors with a tension spring on each side attached to the support arms? They have a history of flying around if they break. They should be fitted with a flexible cable through the middle of each spring. This used to be common knowledge but sectional doors with the spring contained by the axle have become more common.

The videos showing safety cables now are for a different spring arrangement at ceiling level but the principle is the same. Cable as long as fully extended spring through middle of spring and secured at each end.

About 40 years ago a friend of mine was hit on the head by a breaking door spring and has been subject to seizures ever since.

The spring on my mum's door broke this week. Fortunately it didn't hit her.

My own springs also don't have the cables. Are these readily available from e.g. Bunnings and do you know what they're called?

My complete inability to find a deck of cards.

Farmers: staff are all present when I enter, then all vanish once I can't find any cards myself.
Kmart: can't find any cards or any staff.
Warehouse: I find some cards but they have zero information on the box so I have no idea whether they have 52 or 54 cards (I need the jokers).

Total software meltdown. Cascading unrelated failures completely confusing diagnosis because they don't have anything to do with each other except incredibly coincidental timing. AI assistants making things infinitely worse by opening endless rabbit holes. Multiple LAN cables that end up all being faulty. Sheesh! I can't figure out what actually works because all of it is broken. What a day! (actually, a week). It is actually much, much worse than that but I don't have words. Or energy.

That should have worked. Myself for one item I'd head straight to the $2 shop.
