My complete inability to find a deck of cards.

Farmers: staff are all present when I enter, then all vanish once I can't find any cards myself.
Kmart: can't find any cards or any staff.
Warehouse: I find some cards but they have zero information on the box so I have no idea whether they have 52 or 54 cards (I need the jokers).

This ended up being for the best, as I was given a set today and it's just what I need (and probably better quality too)!

I had a comment that was flagged on /r/newzealand, for something innocuous. I just left the sub-Reddit. Do not miss it.

The infantilisation of society.

Having achieved the ancient age of 58, I received a bowel screening kit in the post. Now there’s a birthday present for you.

I perused the instructions and was stunned to find the language dumbed down as if it were intended for children rather than adults. It actually uses words (not sure if these will get through the censor but will give it a go) such as ‘wee’ and ‘poo’.

I knew the correct biological terms for those things at the age of 13. What is this obsession with treating us as if we’re dimmer than a broken lightbulb?

It’s because more than half the population are dimmer than a broken lightbulb.

It seems to be a sign of the times. The best I ever had was a university graduate who applied for a job and started off by telling me everything we had done wrong in aircraft development over the last 30 years and how to do it properly. I tried to bring him back down to earth, but to no avail. Since he was wasting my time, I told him that if I wanted to get a doctorate, I would simply hire one. Of course, he didn't get the job from me... overqualified. 😁

Did a favour for someone sending money overseas, $1k to assist with funeral as their brother had died. Sent on Tuesday with Wise but transfer was stopped as needed to be checked and was informed this would take four days and would arrive Saturday.

Ridiculous. I hardly think that launderers are going to send 1k to someone that is a known recipient and has already been sent a smaller sum 6 months before. A month back they also stopped a payment to my kid who gets the odd payment and is a known recipient in the account.

Infuriating that you can’t trust them for an emergency. I hope they send me a 'How did we do email¡.'

Let us hope that percentage does not increase. Quite soon we will all retire and they will become responsible for earning the tax and running everything! 😱

What makes you think only the younger generation would be affected? I think this is general population, not specific to a segment.

Boomers and Gen X don't have a monopoly in intelligence. It all points that it's not the case - see the old politicians being dumb as rocks or authoritarian figures.

I had them demand the passport details of a known recipient over a $50 payment. I refused, and paid a little more to send it via Paypal instead.

They certainly haven't. But it seems to me that people today have fewer scruples about spreading nonsense without checking it first. Everyone embarrasses themselves as best they can, but that seems to have become a habit.

I blame video games and sugary soft drinks. And all this nonsense about going to the gym and eating lettuce.

People aren't embarrassed anymore. No-one tries to hide their ignorance or stupidity or racism. They just flatulate on.

To be fair, there's something quite liberating about being able to simply flatulate at will...

Annoyed at maybe planned obsolescence. My air fryer is 2 years old in March. I hardly use it except for heating up pastries. Decided today was the right time to try cooking a 1kg whole chicken. I tried one other time but took it out early and finished it in the microwave as was rushing.

I pull out the drawer at the 15 minute mark and the top of the handle bends down at the top seam. Obviously would not hold the basket weight. Cooked the rest of the time but used a tea towel on the sides to take the weight. Briscoes bargain. Do I have any recourse?

It's not dumbing down society it is inclusiveness. Those with limited education or learning disabilities etc have the right to medical opportunities.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
