Handsomedan:

Reminds me of my youngest son, when he wore Jandals for the very first time - he had no idea how to walk in them, so he shuffled along like his legs didn't work from the knee down.
It was hilarious. He must've been about 3 years old.

I used to wear jandals when I was a kid, and probably when I was a teenager, but once I "grew up" I stopped wearing them. Eventually I got a new pair when I was about 30 and it took me a surprisingly long time to re-learn how to walk in them.

Everything to do with buying and selling property is incredibly annoying.

Don't remind me, our place in Auckland will be on the market next week. I'm not looking forward to it but it is necessary.

New Zealand really is quite easy compared to some other markets. Everything here in Dubai is done with bank cheques and requires attendance in person. It's painful.

BMW trying to charge me $1200 to replace the door and boot seals in my 5 year old car. LOL. That's a hard no from me dawg, have you heard of the CGA?

The myth that expensive German cars = premium quality and premium service has been dead for a long time. It’s one of the reasons the German automotive industry is falling apart.

So it looks like brand snobbery is propping them up these days, just like with Range Rover & Jeep.

"I regret to say that we of the F.B.I. are powerless to act in cases of oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate commerce." — J. Edgar Hoover

"Create a society that values material things above all else. Strip it of industry. Raise taxes for the poor and reduce them for the rich and for corporations. Prop up failed financial institutions with public money. Ask for more tax, while vastly reducing public services. Put adverts everywhere, regardless of people's ability to afford the things they advertise. Allow the cost of food and housing to eclipse people's ability to pay for them. Light blue touch paper." — Andrew Maxwell

YouTube's comment system. If your comment fails to post for whatever reason, you won't know. From what I can tell it does two things asynchronously: it updates your local comment list with your new comment, and it posts it to the database. If the latter fails then it'll look like your comment posted successfully, until you either reload the page or look at your comment history.

I've seen this happen a few times now, so it must be a fairly common problem, but it's been happening for years.

Remember that the govt is the one where each department gets their own customer database that you have to update all of them individually. At least they seem to have at some point connected the car rego to the drivers license one, but that doesnt seem to help the AT fines who have their own list of where to send the fines despite NZTA having the correct addresses.

So just one more place to store your details is a no brainer for them.

I think it's something to do with the automatic filtering that may be applied?  Sometimes a youtuber will have keywords automatically flagged, preventing them from being posted.

If it's failing on purpose and not giving an error message then that's even worse. I can sort of understand an unexpected problem not having error detection, but an expected one?

Although in this particular case I can't imagine that anything in my message would have tripped a filter.

I agree,  though people sending these sized files would probably be from the coloured pencil department,  and may have little idea how email works, or what a MB, Hz, or a lightyear is.. it's not in their purview.

Someone told our coloured pencil department that SVG files are good for websites. So when I asked for a header image for a page I was making, I received a 20-something MB near-photorealistic SVG that took around four minutes to render.

I made a set of PNGs from it for different resolutions and then got "but you should be using SVG". At that point I put the SVG on there and asked them to approve the page. They let me switch back to the PNGs.

Having poo spray blowing on our homes on the Wellington South Coast. Not looking forward to the evening when it hits gale force.
