Are you still on HFC or moved to fibre finally?

I would not be trusting that TV anymore. If you are claiming for anything else add that to the claim.

The most remote village in North Korea will have fibre before I do but the WISP that serves me meets my needs pretty well. Fortunately I am not into gaming.

Not worried about the TV. Sony seems to have a moisture safety circuit that prevented it from starting. Once dry it was fine. I will keep an eye on it but I'm sure it will be fine.

Wind has broken our black boy peach tree in half overnight. Not sure if I will be able to save it. A shame because it was laden with fruit not yet ready to pick.

The wind blew off a large number of flowers on ours a few months ago but that’s nothing compared to a broken tree, especially one that produces such a beautiful variety of fruit.

the price of Chocolate Easter products, In woolworths thay have a Whittakers Kiwi shaped hollow chocolate egg 100 grams for $17, that makes the chocolate $170 a kilo. Im not sure who is doing the price gouging but come on.

"I regret to say that we of the F.B.I. are powerless to act in cases of oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate commerce." — J. Edgar Hoover

"Create a society that values material things above all else. Strip it of industry. Raise taxes for the poor and reduce them for the rich and for corporations. Prop up failed financial institutions with public money. Ask for more tax, while vastly reducing public services. Put adverts everywhere, regardless of people's ability to afford the things they advertise. Allow the cost of food and housing to eclipse people's ability to pay for them. Light blue touch paper." — Andrew Maxwell

This leads to another annoyance. When oil prices go up, petrol on the pumps gets more expensive immediately. When oil prices go down, there are "reasons why prices can't go down, the supply chain is complicated, the oil is already in the pump" and all sort of mental exercises to keep it at that level.

The fact that This sort of thing continues to happen and that companies like Parking Enforcement Services are even getting contracted by retailers and retail centre owners.

They're daylight robbers and thugs dressed in suits.

The local McDonald's now has PES. The terms and conditions are on a sign at the exit, which makes me wonder how enforceable they are. I'm also not sure how much offending there was in the first place, as the carpark seemed to fill up fairly rarely (admittedly I'm not there all that often, but even doing the lunch rush I've usually had no trouble getting a space).

Dishonourable mention for the signs saying that it's "licence plate recognition" - the licence is the little card in the corner of the windscreen and that's not the thing they're reading.

Follow-up from the [Smile] thread.

It seems New Zealand moved from French-style baguettes - crispy outside, soft and fluffy inside - made of water, salt and yeast, to sourdough baguettes.

What a waste. Sourdough has a chewy crust outside, it's dense and dry inside. The flavour impacts anything you put in it. Can't even eat a good jamon or prosciutto with cheese without the sourdough screaming "I'm here. Taste how awfully sour I am. Who cares about the other ingredients on your sandwich?"

You can't find a French-style baguette in Wellington anymore. Everywhere they only have those awful sourdough.

Glad I’m not the only one that hates sourdough bread. It has a problem, it’s sour.

What I find infuriating about this case. I use those shops and that car park quite regularly. Even at its busiest that car park would rarely exceed 60% full. So any excuse that enforcement is there to protect other shoppers is complete BS.

This happened to some people I know up at the highbury mall in birkenhead. Once was driving thru it to get to maccas for breakfast and the other camera capture was parking at the end of the day to do something else. Another was done just for driving thru it twice in one day.

Now they just do not go to that dire mall. Own goal for these places when their broken systems do this and they make it work to argue with something they have no proof over. If they say I was parked there for 4 hours then I expect nothing less than a 4 hour video of my car parked in a place. If you can't provide that then GTFO.

For generation upon generation spanning a century or two and into a new millennium. Travelling across continents, wide oceans and into the darkness of space. Mankind has prospered and developed into the technology epoch. Endured wars, plagues, famine and the Fiat Multipla. So why by the gods of Asgard did we feel the need to glue the starting point of the humble but vitally useful roll of toilet paper? Why?

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
