Handle9:
Not sleeping well. Mrs Handle is going through some really tough times at work and it's come to a head yesterday. It'll be for the best but it's not fun times at the moment.
Hopefully in a year's time you'll be thinking it was the best thing to happen despite the pain at the time.
gzt:Behodar: I'm a light sleeper and something woke me at about 2am. It sounded a bit like a cat lapping up some water. It stopped a couple of seconds after I noticed it, and I lay there perfectly still, then around ten minutes later I heard it again. It stopped after a few seconds.
A few drops of
- dew falling off a roof point outside hitting concrete
- toilet cistern overflow hitting concrete
- hot water expansion / valve
- a small run from pipe into a drain or similar
anyway don't drive yourself nuts looking for it and good luck ; ).
I have the (mis)fortune to be totally deaf on one side since forever. The good news is I can roll over onto the working ear and block out all but the lowest frequency sounds. Even the wife's snuffling.

Got another unknown anonymous call, this time from 09-394-1355. All the reverse lookup websites have drawn a blank.
"I regret to say that we of the F.B.I. are powerless to act in cases of oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate commerce." — J. Edgar Hoover
"Create a society that values material things above all else. Strip it of industry. Raise taxes for the poor and reduce them for the rich and for corporations. Prop up failed financial institutions with public money. Ask for more tax, while vastly reducing public services. Put adverts everywhere, regardless of people's ability to afford the things they advertise. Allow the cost of food and housing to eclipse people's ability to pay for them. Light blue touch paper." — Andrew Maxwell

Wonder how long until the video I'm watching will run out of buffer then.

That explains the huge burst of productivity I've had this afternoon.

People who insist on setting all their emails as high importance.
People who ask for a call back within 5 minutes for quite obviously not that important issue.

At one point we allowed people to set their own priorities on IT tickets. I'd say that around 95% came in as "Urgent". Very few actually were.

For a home healthcare portal primarily used on trusted personal devices, a “remember this device” model with risk-based authentication would provide strong security without excessive friction.
Manage My Health has mismanaged this from the beginning. Now that the horses have bolted they are nailing the barn door shut. On the basis of their behaviour from the start of this saga, I wouldn't trust them with my grocery shopping list. Having waited to see how things would pan out, I cancelled my membership just the other day. If I need something I will just ring the practice.
