Everything to do with buying and selling property is incredibly annoying.

New Zealand really is quite easy compared to some other markets. Everything here in Dubai is done with bank cheques and requires attendance in person. It's painful.

The incompetence and lack of any care from the other parties bank is utterly mindboggling and enraging. I can't complete the transaction because they have to pickup literally one piece of paper from my bank. Of course it has to be them, I can't deliver it. When asked when we get the response "maybe tomorrow, maybe the next day inshallah."

This isn't the first time things have been delayed by these clowns. Ramadan makes it all much worse.

All the supermarkets online shopping annoys the hell out of me.

At the mercy of what the local tiny new world decides to stock for flavours of things. They are backed by a giant distribution center that sends the whole range of things to some branches.

Inexcusable why online shopping cannot have access to the whole range of things and have them packed and shipped to my local from the distribution center for pickup in a day or 2. Instead I either have to try to get a delivery from another one to home or work, which they dont want to do because they only want the closest new world to deliver to you, or else go and endure pak n save of go off to countdown and see what they have.

We rarely if ever endure pak n save. Just click and collect so you don’t even have to enter at all. However the stocking problem exists there too.

Things seem to have got worse in the past few years too. I'm sure that you used to be able to get "everything" from a single supermarket, but now it's "oh if you want one of those you need to go to New World, but if you want this then you need to go to Woolworths". It can even vary within a product range, e.g. Woolworths has ten flavours of one particular product, but the flavour I like the best is only at New World.

Internal Server Error 500 when I tried to upload a photo of my cake to GZ. 😎

When you could get everything from a single supermarket, everything was a much smaller range. Supermarkets sell shelf space. They aren't going to stock something that has low demand.

Yes, but for longest drink in town syrups the one near me carries only chocolate, which is fine, and lime. WHO THE HELL LIKES LIME SHAKES? For my banana or caramel I have to go to feral and save.

They seem to be able to fill entire bays with essentially identical sauces and chips.

Another annoy. work colleagues who despite being told probably 8 times now still do not know the difference between an email to them, and an email CC'ed to them. And things have been done twice and the idiot is complaining that I asked 2 people to do something. No, I asked 1 and CCed 2 others so they knew that it was happening.

gzt: Asking the bakery manager nicely would be your first and best option.

Do your two Napier branches actually have an in-store bakery or are they trucking a limited range from Waipukarau?

I have a similar situation with two Woolworths. One has a larger range and technically is the smaller branch. I try to avoid the bakery section these days. The difference is not really an issue for me. The smaller branch has more of the things I buy anyway and is not 60km away.

No doubt. I did enquire through the online CSR if there was/is a problem with the in-store bakery that it would be helpful to make their customers aware of, but that was a similarly unrewarding experience. I suspect they are either lacking enough qualified bakers to enable full production or are doing some kind of maintenance or equipment replacement which is similarly constraining output.

I probably do need to get in the car and go and take a look for myself though rather than moaning about it here.

If you look at their bread in the blue packaging you will see the bread is made in Australia and finished in store.

I don't think they even have "bakers" anymore.

To add to my tiger stick whinge, I also wanted to purchase some Vitasport electrolyte sachets in Rapid Orange flavour. While Woolworths Napier has quite the selection of flavours, presumably based on sales data and demand, they do not offer bog-standard orange. Woolworths Hastings, no such problem.

The legacy of Woolworths operating two stores in Napier so close to one another that you could stand at the entrance of one, throw a tennis ball and hit the entrance of the other one, is that neither store is now fit for purpose to support a population of 60K+. Were there not an arterial road separating the two branches I have little doubt Woolworths wouldn't have demolished both and combined the sites for a larger market and parking.

I do believe they are only operating online deliveries out of one of the stores though I can't be certain of this. I would like the ability to select from either of the two Napier branches dependant on their ranges and my requirements. Similarly, as I live on the outskirts of Napier and reasonably equidistant between the two Napier branches and the Hastings one, I would like the option of being able to select delivery from the Hastings store but, as you have identified, they don't allow you to select outside your strict geographical area.

However, these things are set up to benefit Woolworths more rather than their consumers ultimately. It might be too confronting for Woolworths HQ to discover that Napier customers were preferring to order from Hastings than endure what is being offered up here. Anyway, the moral of the story is that I should probably stop being so lazy and do my grocery shop regularly in person.

Surely not. The tiger sticks (when I can actually get them) come in the standard perforated bags with a tape tie. I should declare an interest and say that, during my university years, I worked part-time in the bakeries at Woolworths St Lukes and Woolworths Lynnmall and we were baking on-site then from scratch (well pre-mix -- add yeast, water and heat). Perhaps some products are par-baked via Australia nowadays?

One thing is for certain though, I do need to go in and have a look at what's going on. I have been having a running battle with Woolworths for a couple of months now over my quest for a shredded chicken-filled tiger stick. Either the sticks are supplied and the chicken isn't, or the chicken is supplied and the sticks aren't. Online shopping has supposedly made life "easier" but not a reality supported by the facts or my experiences.

Meanwhile, Batman is trying his best to fight off a pallet of monitors. What a crazy old world we live in!

People who are unable to use Outlook to plan meeting times and don't respect my time.

Them: "You declined the meeting today."

Me: "Yes I have another meeting at that time"

Them: "Can you do it later?"

Me: "No it is 7:30pm when my earlier meeting finishes and I have personal commitments after that." You know like eating and seeing my kids.

Them: "I'll reschedule for tomorrow or Friday."

Me: "Ok."

My day is really clear tomorrow but we are on Ramadan hours so we finish work at midday on Friday. The meeting comes through for 5:30pm on Friday when my calendar is blocked. Declined.

Yep, just had one of them. Three of us had a pre-existing event in our calendars and someone dropped a six-person meeting over the top. When we protested, "well tough, because this is the only time we can do it." Then when the supervisor couldn't make it, suddenly this meeting could move after all.

So when do they move it to? Just over the top of a project go-live and someone else being away at her son's school camp.
