Watching Youtubers who used to be humble, make great (but less polished and more autenthic) food, turn into giant advert machines to fund their new high fuletin lifestyles. 

I get it's the way you stay relevant and get more income, but it's sad.  Looking at you Guga. 

Thankfully, there are still some great ones (looking at you Project Farm).

Three twos are six.

One of the advantages of primary lithium batteries is a long shelf life.

i found that they don't last that much longer, especially for the price. i would look at lithium ion batteries (not sure with aaa but you can get aa conversions) and either recharge them or fit a solar charger.

i just fitted a solar powered pir sensor light at mates place. it didn't cost much but it uses a rubbish 18650. 

Can't use rechargeables as the sensor sets a low battery fault at 3.6v and requires 4.1v to restore.

The alarm was fitted in May 2025, so I have talked to the installer. They are going to supply a set of lithium batteries. The batteries they fitted in January were Energiser Industrial alkaline, so the originals and first replacement set were probably also alkaline. 

If they don't last any longer, I will look at fitting a mains powered power supply and just use the batteries as backup for power cuts.

It's starting to really annoy me that every new salesperson (who apparently thinks I'm some kind of steampunk) recommends their company app and immediately tries to explain how to use it. Their parents probably weren't even born when we were already working with eight self-built 32-bit parallel computers with integrated coprocessors, back when the rest of the world still considered i286 and i386 processors at 25MHz with external i287, i387, or Weitek coprocessors to be state-of-the-art. Back then, we were already rendering, ray tracing, Mandelbrot, and recognizing handwriting with them. 😎

That's because there is no benefit to you. They only want you to download it so that they can use the notifications system to shove advertising down your throat.

It's a well-known thing for teachers to get sick during the school holidays. It seems that dedication and work ethic go some way to keeping illness at bay. Or possibly teachers use up their reserves during the teaching term, so are more vulnerable afterwards.
