Ticket logged with vendor when version X was current. Vendor then releases version Y. Issue confirmed to still exist in version Y. Ticket updated with comment that it's still broken in Y. Six months later, the vendor closes the ticket with "this is for version X which is now out of support". Latest patch update for version Y still exhibits the issue.

Now the vendor's being obtuse. The original ticket was "If you go to the list of items, then switch to e.g. page 3, open an item, then click Back, it returns you to page 1 instead of page 3." There was a note, intended to aid with troubleshooting, stating that the URL still includes "?page=3" so it's "trying" to work, but failing.

When I reopened the ticket, they closed it again with "we don't use query strings any more". They've homed in on an implementation detail and ignored the actual issue: that it goes to the wrong page.

That sounds annoying but they're knocking it out of the park with their ticket closure metrics !

I've just looked out the window and seen the groundskeeper from the neighbouring school use a leaf blower to blow the accumulated debris from the storm earlier this week directly down the drain outside my house.

If this drain gets blocked, my house will flood.

I'm annoyed.

That would warrant a formal complaint

Better today?

Yesterday was not a good day. I had an visit to my specialists that was not the best and was given some bad news. Feeling very down today.

Sorry to hear that Mike.
Hopefully your week gets better and you manage to enjoy your upcoming Matariki weekend.

I'd favour having a polite word in those circumstances.  He possibly hasn't thought it through.

Regrettably no outsider can share that kind of burden. All we can do is offer a gesture of moral support and a reminder that others care how you are feeling. I sincerely hope tomorrow is better than yesterday for you.

THIS annoyed me today.

More sentence reductions and ridiculous statements from a Judge when sentencing these admitted and guilty criminals who actively participated in violent crime that has changed the victim's lives forever.

This statement is particularly galling. "That fact, as well as other personal matters, his guilty pleas, and the time already spent on electronically monitored bail, the judge said, meant a sentence reduction of about 50%.

He was a “full participant” in the cruel and violent offending, the judge said. She was not convinced he was influenced by his co-offenders.

Te Amo was sentenced to a total of four years and four months in prison.

The judge acknowledged the victims may not think the sentence was long enough but said it was a long time for a young person and should not be “crushing”."

@MikeB4  Don’t let this new development steal your hope. Doctors are not Gods that perfectly understand your symptoms and test results can often be skewed by many factors. I can give you personal examples of diagnosed serious outcomes changing course. Am a firm believer that some situations can reverse themselves or lessen especially with a stubborn and positive spirit.

It sucks being in pain and feeling thwarted. Wishing you all the best.
