Replaced a mortise lock on a door. New one doesn't fit in original space. The new handles cost 3 times the price of the lock. It's all working now

My 1st weekend off in ages. ( actual fact I have 1 in 6 weekends off)
Sat. Had a Planned ride with a Group of Can Am Spyders owners by Bill Hohepa who is well known in NZ for his fishing TV show. He also BTW now owns a Spyder to help him film motorbike shows which are shown on CUE TV.
After that had to depart early and attended he Auckland GZPE evening which was very enjoyable. Must be my 3 or 4 th now. Good turn out and the pizza and location was excellent. There must be something with a whole pile of Geeks & Pizza??!!

Sunday attended the Devonport Rotary BBQ/Blues Motorcycle Event to help raise funds for Prostrate Cancer. There were heaps of Motorbikes attending. The weather held out well.
I had a busy weekend. Managed to have a long way ride home with my Waikato Ulysses colleages

freitasm: Rosie is a lowchen... Three months old, and very little (as you can see in the photo she's currently not much taller than a step):

Cool dog. Just out of interest. Do you know the name of the plants to the left of the pot? We have some  and they are quite big. They were in the garden when we got here

Sorry, no idea. This is Nate's place - on Sunday morning we went to his partner's cafe (Tuihana Cafe) for brunche and Nate let me use their place to babysit Rosie before going to the airport. I spent two hours there waiting for the time to go.

Easter charity motorcycle ride in Wellington. About 80-ish bikes. Raised something like $1300 for the city mission (couldn't hear the actual figure as they couldn't work out how to use a megaphone properly).

Saw this which surprisingly photographed fairly accurately:

Circular rainbow

Plus the usual gardening, home repairs etc.

Sunday
Packing items from my trade me auctions to be shipped and had my nana around for dinner and so she could skype my aunty in aussie.

Saturday:

Cleaned up the water pump, oil pickup, oil pump on my V8 engine i am rebuilding.
Pulled the harmonic balancer off and tidied up the garage (Edit, yes i know the dates on the photos are wrong, only took photos on sunday :) )

Sunday:

Realised my torque wrench is horribly out of calibration. Splashed out and brought a new digital wrench since it was $3 more expensive than the mechanical wrench i was looking at (got to love specials!)
Cleaned up the timing cover from the engine:

I also have no idea what they plant is.  The joys of being un-green-fingered?

Saturday: Played through Dragon Age Origins this time rolled an Assassin Rogue. Never get sick of DA this is the 4th play through.

Sunday went fishing caught 6 snapper & one small shark about a foot long that I released back in the sea

Sunday night looked at the messy kitchen and walked away.

From a readers' Q and A column in TV GUIDE: "If we get involved in a nuclear war, would the electromagnetic pulses from exploding bombs damage my videotapes?"
