Unfortunately can't post a picture of this moment but my friend has been playing and buying the Fifa games each year for several years and plays hundreds of hours on each one as well. When we play together he used to beat me sometimes by 10 plus goals on a regular basis (yes I know not a good start to convincing someone to take me to be a team mate to try win a competition playing this).
However on the first day he got Fifa 12 before he played it by himself I was at his house and beat him 3 - 2 and led him from about 5 minutes into the match through to the end. If I hadn't teased him so much towards the end of the match he would have lost 3 nil but I let 2 late goals get in but racked up my first win against him lol.
Since then although he still usually beats me it's nowhere near the old score lines and more often than not we end up in a penalty shoot out. So for me beating my Football mad friend at his #1 game (franchise) for the first time the first time he played Fifa 12 it was truly one of my best multiplayer gaming moments. He I can asure you does not see it that way and I would certainly love a chance to win a pair of Alienware Laptops for Mauricio and I.
oh I remember that one too. I also played pong on the fountain video games there was like 10 versions of it some the called hockey, and soccer and so on, but they were all the same get the . past the paddle. apparently a game with 2 bars as a paddle is far different from a single bar paddle.
A true gamer would say forget about the trip and just give me that laptop, hell we have youtube and other sites to watch that game masters expo, I would rather be at home hugging my new lappy.
Worst Response To A Crisis: From a readers' Q and A column in TV GUIDE: "If we get involved in a nuclear war, would the electromagnetic pulses from exploding bombs damage my videotapes?"
Ok so, I am pretty much the Ultimate Gamer.....I have over 250 games on my Steam account, will play any platform or genre (I'm not a gamist!) and am all about the social aspect. I have been playing for over 20 years now and don't see any signs of slowing down. I'm sure loads of people can compare with this - so i'll tell you how I differentiate!
Each year, for the last four years, myself and two mates have held an annual (sometimes bi-annual) gaming weekend - normally when our significant others are away. We pool some money and the host takes care of some special surprise during the weekend. To start with our budget was around $100 each for the weekend. This took care of beers and junk food. Over the proceeding events this has escalated to around 300 per person. We now go all out on nice food, spirits and beers.
We generally have some favorite games to play during this epic event, and weekends have been spent playing blockbusters like Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Starcraft II. But then there are other times when an indie game comes along and steals the show. I'm talking Plain Sight or Dungeon Defenders. These games are generally sprung on the participants as a surprise gift by the host.
The build up to the weekend however is the best part. Multiple invites and teaser invites are delivered by email, snail mail and YouTube. This all builds up the excitement and much smack talking is done between the lads to pump us up.
Next time it is my turn to host......i'm pretty sure I'm going to have to send limo's to pick up the lads and host it at a penthouse or something to top the last weekend....
So Mauricio - if you pick me, you know you are going to be going with someone who is super passionate about gaming and has a good time when playing. Hey, we might also win the laptops :)
Sometimes it's about winning off the field as it is much about winning on the field. Now I did a fair amount of game time before it was decided that all other challengers needed a chance to prove themselves... so hung the boots up for now (ahem... the truth is when reality finally set in & in real life there was another world outside of games)
Now I am gracious when it comes to defeat from a better player on the day; YET it will be a most memorable and most festive day when I kick ar53 should the outcome work in my favour (regardless whether it was a fluke or not) a WIN!!!! will always be better than not a win
Here's the checklist when we head to Melbourne to go and get my laptop (and yours too): #1 Bring back my laptop (and yours if you are lucky) #2 ....
With the right blends of charisma, character, a touch of sarcasm and being good with a pair of boxing gloves; sometimes its not even about the war but the battle that ensues.
I shall be reading the Art of War in preparation for our trip to Melbourne. From me to you.
Not gonna go on about irrelevant stuff as in how many games I own on steam or not.
Will say though, that if you choose me, we'd have an excellent shot at winning! (Given that you aren't a noob! :P )
I love sports games, I do play the occasional shooter every once in a while, but I get more of a thrill out of beating other players online in sports games as it requires more skill! :) I haven't got the newest fifa (Fifa 11 is the latest I've got) But I'm sure with a little warm up fifa '12 will be a breeze! (Actually, gonna go rent it tomorrow at get used to it! :D )
Thanks for giving us all the chance to take part in this! :)
