1+ SV650 or perhaps an ER6N

Nothing like the torque or a V-Twin
Naturally if you have the money there is always this:

True, a MultiStrada is a lot of fun...

About the only model affordable to mere mortals new are the Monsters though.

Yep, I enjoy riding the Multistrada too, and I used to have a monster. #ducatifanboi

I currently have the Hypermotard 796, a whole lotta Italian bike that is great for urban riding and NZ roads for $20k.

Looks like a hybrid (not electric!) Hypermotard/Multistrada is in the works for next year, see here and below. Everyone is tipping it to be an 848 but I have heard there is an all new 1000cc ish 130HP 8valve engine on the way . . .

The ER6N engine is great and it's also fitted to the Versys, which are great all rounders. Similar to a V-Strom but closer to the weight of the SV.

My Versys feels like a sports bike, it's light round town and it's a good 1-up Tourer although the looks don't appeal to everyone.
But if you've never ridden a triple you're missing out on a huge grin....

Got offered a 05 Honda CBR1000RR at a price I couldn't refuse. Now I just have to wait for the grit trucks to stop ruining the roads and I will be off.
