I know the feeling of "missing" something - I went to Las Vegas for a conference in July and wanted to see Penn Teller at Rio... They were on leave exactly that week.

It wasn't just Dr Who for us - aside from missing out in Cardiff, we seemed to be either too late or too early for pretty much everything: comedians, bands, shows - you name it, we missed it! Except for the Bond in Motion exhibition at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu. That was pretty cool...

Lizard1977:
StarBlazer: Just got back from a trip to England and my family and I were so excited about the chance of going to the new Dr Who exhibition in Cardiff.....   Then the dates got released and it opened 2 weeks after we left sob sob.

We were in a similar situation.  We were in Cardiff the day before they launched the Dr Who Experience, so we missed out on the Cybermen "attack" at Roald Dahl's Plass (Mermaid Quay - "home" to Torchwood), and the publicity at Cardiff Castle (where we had been 24 hours previously.  We had to make do with watching it on TV in Swindon.  Grrrr...

On a plus side, we got to see the Ianto Jones shrine at Mermaid Quay.  Brilliant!

Stink!  I'm sure the next time we go to blighty the girls won't be interested in Dr Who - It'll be a hard sell for us to go all the way to Cardiff just for me to see Dr Who - although I understand it's a very beautiful city and I'm sure there will be shops!!!

Oh dear - that sounds a bit like the Griswolds (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085995/)

Perhaps we should start a "What have you just missed" thread!

For the last few months there have been rumours abound about an old enemy returning. Ice Warriors and Yeti being the most popular contenders.

I'm hoping Ice Warriors, but even more I'm hoping The Moff pulls out one that nobody suspected, so it will be a genuine surprise.

My very metal Doctor Who theme
