As it should cause the machine knows you are paying by credit card and not cash

floydbloke: Doesn't make sense to me. Assuming you bought the ticket from a machine, you'd think it knows the time and day so charges you the $8.00. You opt to by credit card, the machine recognises this and should add the 50c automatically.

What am I missing here?
Do you still have the ticket the machine spat out?

Edit:sorry, slow typist, mostly repeats what's covered above already.

Here's the ticket floyd -

floydbloke: Maybe give Marcus a call in the morning and ask him to explain why it didn't add the surcharge automatically. Record the phone-call (tell him you're doing so, I expect they'll probably do the same) and follow it up with an email.

Believe me I have tried calling them a million times, they never ever pick up! They replied back to my email after 5 working days.

WTF indeed, you've got a pretty good case to tell them to get stuffed I think.

with that ticket saying including the 50c fee they have no grounds to stand on;

point them to the door, and tell em good luck, wouldn't even hold up in court on their end.

I didn't no. Like I said, I assumed I had paid for a full 12 hours and I left the car park later in the night. According to the ticket, my $8 had only bought me an hour and a half.

There's something very suspicious about their ticketing system.

From the OP:

The $65 is not related to the 8 minutes parked overtime specifically in your situation, just that you had been issued with a Parking Breach Notice at this time.

.... whatever that means.

So you parked over your time paid for?

What did the breach notice say?

By the looks of your original post you didn't see this on your car, but I assume they attached it to their message back to you. If not, ask them for it as well.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Well logically I had paid for 12 hours hadn't I? My folly was not checking the ticket on the day and ensuring that it was actually for a full 12 hours. Technically speaking though, I parked over the stated time yes.

The breach notice was a very generic letter. It basically said I had breached their terms and conditions (didn't specify the exact reason). I'll scan it and put it up here in a bit.

I have asked for a copy of the 'original' breach notice with the exact reason today. Let's see how long they take to reply back.
