freitasm: It is great until after midnight you have to go and find a leak in the roof...

I didn't have to wait that long; it started dripping into our dining room about 9 pm.

johnr: Farmers will need something else to talk in the media about now!
dont mean to offend but obviously you dont know much about farming if you think this rain is enough to help.  Will need 10 times as much just to recover some then a regular amount to actually grow again

I have seen country calendar once or twice ;)

The predictability of farmer bashing is much greater than the rain.

Let's please not bash the farmers. This drought does no one in New Zealand any good and we're all going to be paying higher prices for farm produce due to the economic hardship it's caused.

I'm glad to hear that many places in NZ have received some rain over the last few days. May it continue.

Ours was subtle. Inside a wardrobe. We noticed some wetness on a shelf. WE had to empty the wardrobe, remove the shelf then I crawled in the roof space to put a bucket on top of the leak. One drip every three seconds, under rain. But enough to make everything wet there...

Been raining on and off all night and morning here, loving the cold though, get to finally wear my big black wool coat, tomorrow gonna start unpacking the cashmere with any luck. I feel like I'm one of the only people who actually enjoys winter haha.

One thing I hate about it though, is with this long dry spell, everyone seems to have forgotten how to drive in wet weather. Few rear ends on the way to classes today (not to me but I passed by them) and everyones getting impatient etc, mayhem. Hour and a half to get from Manukau to Pt. Chev. Ridiculous.
