I'm lying here on my couch listening to the rain pissing down. What's it been like where you are?

Thursday and Friday were scorchers in Whangamata, surf was ok, Saturday was ok till lunch time, drizzled pretty much the rest of the time we were there. Driving from Auckland to Whangamata I don't think I saw a blade of green grass the entire trip. Was nice the rain wasn't too heavy, from drought to flooding would really have sucked.

Turf worm

The price of feed.

I've collected nearly a large household bin full of rainwater now off the garage roof since yesterday (20lt?) Must get a proper rainwater tank set up.

Been raining quite heavily most of the day here in Wanganui, had quite a good few hours of thunder too :)

Had to do a presentation for to a client, not something we ever do, but make an exception for this largish client.

Involved me carrying my laptop, projector, portable screen and power leads from the car to the hotel - it starts pouring just as I pull up, and I'm drenched by the time I make it to the front entrance.

Typical.

Was dry by the end, good ol commercial air con.

They need something to justify raising the prices of milk. But seriously this rain is pretty light, and it probably won't break the drought. My rain meter shows only 26mm of rain has fallen in Wellington which isn't a lot, and in terms of river water, they won't be able to take water from the river for the first few days, as it will be too dirty, so unless it keeps raining, it could make the water shortage worse. Apparently another big high is due, so summer isn't over yet.

dont mean to offend but obviously you dont know much about farming if you think this rain is enough to help.  Will need 10 times as much just to recover some then a regular amount to actually grow again

Getting some more serious rain this evening in Hamilton. Dont think Ive seen the #Waikato so dry. Luckily with the odd rain over last day or so we shouldn't get the top soil washed off
