Klipspringer: 320 kbps on google play
mattwnz:johnr:mattwnz:johnr: Not Sure what the new Album is called but plenty of music on the Vodafone music store (Vodafone play)

Very low bit rate, Only 128 last time I used it. itunes quality is far higher.
Was the OP speaking about bit rate? I am not even sure what the bit rate is,The thread is about buying legal music in New Zeland
Look in itunes under the music track and you will see what 'bitrate' means.
Bit rate is the same as compression, and it's only 128kbps compression last time I purchased a track from it. Bit rate is one of the most important things when buying online music, as the sound quality of the music track makes a huge amount of difference. Apples if far higher quality and no DRM either, so I think it is one of the better choice for buying music. I wouldn't buy any music under 192 as the compression is too easy to hear on good quality speakers. Most of apples is 256 these days which is what people should be buying. Amazons music bit rate is also 256 http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200389400
johnr: " the bit rate is " was I don't know what the bit rate is for music off the Vodafone play store or I would have said I don't know what bit rate means
And no not once the OP spoke about bit rate they were upset as they thought the only option was itunes for music

Ok, rereading it I can see what you mean. My point was that it isn't really an alternative option ,as people these days want at least 256. So I was comparing apples with apples when it came to the music download sites. Ask the OP what they would prefer to buy music at 128, or 256
bagpussnz: Then converted to mp3 so anything can play it.
