SaltyNZ: Wow, 20Mbps... I wish I could get *half* that here where I live.
DonGould:
I think I've got your office number about here some where, would you like me to give him a call back and get him to call you directly. You know I'm always only to happy to help a fellow GZer.

michaelmurfy: The amount of times he says "OK?" bugs me.
"You using ADSL2?" No, that will be like riding a horse and cart to the supermarket - I had to laugh at this.
michaelmurfy: This guy sounded energetic at the start then very depressed near the end. Good job!
freitasm: Right. So they are calling on behalf of Origin Communications (origincommunications.co.nz) then?
Interesting.
freitasm:
"You'll be very glad to know".
How could they possibly know you will be glad?
freitasm: "You will be getting 10 GB for your downloading. Your browsing and uploading will be unlimited."
Wow... Unbelievable. These guys are promising some stuff there...

Ramjet007: For some "spam" calls i just say, hang on a sec, then put the phone down and carry on doing what i was doing.
Some say on for ages.
coldstone: Well lets make it uneconomic for them to continue or just really frustrating- so when you receive one of these call ask them to hold on- they are calling from overseas so there is a real cost of calling. I have used the following to get them to sit on my phone and waste there time- note while they are waiting im off doing my own thing

Just pump all your traffic via port 80 and free data! :D
They should at least get some more convincing sales staff....
myopinion:Yeah I did this once and came back 45 minutes later and they were still holding! I guess
for them as long as they are on calls it counts?
gundar: Something else to consider, most times, the callers themselves are under the impression they have a valid and genuine job; a lot of times the 'sales staff' are recruited into 'work from home' type arrangements.
I am usually polite, but adamant that I never buy anything over the phone and I request, politely never to call again. Seems to work fine (unlike the flyer deliveries in my neighbourhood, now there is a genuine problem we should all be working towards ending).
