timmmay: Is there a way to unsubscribe? It's a huge waste of paper.
The White Pages was opt-in in Auckland this year. It was big news in the middle of the year because the number distributed dropped from something like 500,000 to 20,000
The most amusing thing is people write "return to sender", and often a novel about why they don't want it, then post them thinking they're making a statement.
With no postage and no address a telephone book is recycling no matter what you write on it.
how much does it cost them each year to print out all these phone books? for the amount of people who actually use them it would be better to only give them to those who request them, rather than giving one to everyone and having 90% of them throw it straight into the trash. they could then use the savings for something more usefull
Yellow Pages is a business that sells advertising, so I'd guess it is up to them to decide the best way to do that. But does it then mean that they shouldn't really be delivering you one if you have a "no advertising material" type sign on your letterbox?
And according to their web site - "1 in 5 Kiwis use a Yellow print product every week* (*Nielsen CMI: Q3 2012 – Q2 2013.)
So the Woodburner start appliance has arrived, namely the phonebook, lol do we still really need these? mine usually sits on the shelf until I run out of firelighters lol
