Just had next years Telephone book delivered, but it got me to wondering. How many people in a personal or business sense still actually use it, when the information is online?

This. Although at the moment I have mine on top of The New Lexicon Webster's Dictionary of the English Language, a similarly useful/weighty tome.

I use my books a few times a year only. The information design is truly terrible.

Ours arrived on rubbish day, so I only had to move it 1 metre from the ground into the rubbish bag.

Don't even consider using it, seldom ever even use yellow online. If the Internet can't produce an acceptable result, I ask people I know for recommendations.

For the most part, if the company doesn't have a semi reasonable website, I won't use them.

John it's a thing that's used to drive community health - exercise.

Read the other posts and you'll start to understand.

One example is the guy who bends over to pick up said 'widget' and move it 1 meter.  The 'book' is roughly 250 to 500 grams.  This is, increasingly, quite an amount of exercise for many folk.

Personally I use Google.

Currently I have at least 5 phone numbers and none of them can be found in the 'telephone book'.

My parents seem to still exist in the online version, but I'm long gone.

To me the publication has little or no value any more because it's just not complete.  Even the online version is hopeless.

Google, on the other hand, does typically get me a result when I want to find out a phone number.

In Christchurch, the Yellow Pages logically goes in the yellow recycling bin.

I really don't know what to do with them in Auckland.

Is there a way to unsubscribe? It's a huge waste of paper.
