nedkelly: Interesting how the cut is causing issues for some users up here in Whangaparaoa on Slingshot but not others.

Fibres into the TBY exchange also got cut (one of our core fibres is out but we have redudnancy).

THis could have taken down part of slingshots EUBA handovers.

Xnet told my parents who are in Sunnynook that it could take until the 3rd of March before it's resolved.... lets hope they are wrong.

I guess it's similar to the accident which tool place on Northcote road a year or so again, drill head popup up on the wrong side of the road not far from your DC with parts of the fibre feeding Glenfield Exchange still stuck in the drill bit.

Props to the splicing teams who not only have to do the work, but also do them in a particular order based on what services each fibre carries and how loud the customers are screaming at their Chorus account managers.

Ouch, I'm affected by that same outage. Glad I have mobile data. If that turns out to be true there is a chance that I could be connected to Ufb before the adsl comes back up. But knowing my luck it would be on the same backhaul.

Would be great to see such hard work recognised at a larger scale.

Good news stories don't get nearly as much traction as bad.
