I'm a geek, a gamer, a dad, a Quic user, and an IT Professional. I have a full rack home lab, size 15 feet, an epic beard and Asperger's. I'm a bit of a Cypherpunk, who believes information wants to be free and the Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. If you use my Quic signup you can also use the code R570394EKGIZ8 for free setup. Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

I think I must've seen "Bad News" & "More Bad News" about 300 times each. Not to mention everything else he did.

Sad news indeed. What is it with comedians dying before their time?

I recall he almost did die about 10 years ago after an accident due to a head injury. I wonder if that old injury played a part...possibly a stroke or something.

1998 that was.

There's some speculation he suffered a seizure as a result of the head injury.

I don't think too many people under 25 know who he was, as he hadn't done too much tv stuff recently. Most younger people may remember him from the film drop dead fred, which wasn't the greatest film.

Sheesh I watched that on DVD with an old girlfriend...  the most memorable line from the film being "Wow, Cobwebs!"  =)

Another hero from my child hood gone, Ultimate Warrior now Rik Mayall. The Young Ones was some funny stuff, I have that and Bottom on DVD. If you haven't watched the Bottom movie Guest House Paradiso you should.

Of course the get together with Cliff Richard was comic genius too.

New Statesman was a riot, Allan Bastard.... sad days.

I think the world is now possibly to PC for those sorts of comedies. He was also good on blackadder.

And at the "Bottom" of that page I saw this

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/serial-cucumber-masturbator-sentenced-after-indecent-act-in-library-9499913.html Seems fitting.

One of my favourite bits from The Young Ones
