richms:

Sky bitch about global mode but they only have to look at their own products quality to see the cause.

This. At least in the article in the Herald where Sky, TVNZ and Mediaworks all dropped the global mode ads (Streisand Effect, anyone?) TVNZ and Mediaworks were honest enough to admit it was because they didn't want to advertise a competitor (although strangely they're OK with advertising Sky).

Since ditching Sky, I don't even have free-to-air NZ TV any more - I don't even have an antenna on my house for it. And I don't miss it.

I'm really looking forward to this.  It is going to be very interesting moving back to a more 'mature' Doctor after having a string of youngsters.

But you don't know it and will express your surprise and joy at the appropriate time, obviously.

Capaldi says he's less gimicky (you know, the fez, the bow-tie.)

Reports from the first screening... I love this quote... "THESE ARE ATTACK EYEBROWS."
Awesome.

Of course. I only know about it now because a future me from after the screening came back to tell me all about it on account of it being so awesome and all.

Must admit, I had hoped for it to be on Prime a week earlier. C'est la vie. Nice way to finish the last day of winter.

Are they still going with the 'one hour whole story' format?

I much preferred the '12 episodes one story format' of old - and the plot device that the Doctor could not control where the Tardis materialised, which seems to have been dropped a while ago.
