freitasm: First thing my wife noticed in the WLG movie - the accent. How they changed...

My better half said the same thing.

Really nice to see some footage of the city pre urban urban motorway and guessing the opening shot is flying over Mt Kaukau pre the tv transmitter was built?

Kopkiwi: Boy how I wish Wellington traffic was still that sparse.

I would have been great if the films had been published on youtube in HD. As they were done on film I imagine they could get better copies off them. It was amazing to see Wellington without the motorway, it was like a small town, and that wasn't really that long ago. The 80's really changed Wellington.

It really was quite odd watching it. I'm as nostalgic mother fecker as they get, but was only born in the mid 80s. To see so many familiar land marks and buildings is very...strange. But then to see what's changed in such a relatively short time span is a little eerie.

Lol, I remember when Auckland's Northern motorway was all of 5km north of the bridge, and ended at Tristam Ave..

So it's true! Only white people lived in Auckland judging by that video ha! It's certainly not just the buildings that have changed... That looked like a very 60s version of Auckland!

Such a great script and editing.
