MattR:
graemeh: They also managed to have good quality sound which is not always the case in Vector Arena.

We went to the Friday night Melbourne show at Rod Laver Arena (booked before Auckland was announced...) and thought the sound wasn't that great...

Still a great concert :)

Ha, me too.  Wasn't going to miss out on them coming anywhere remotely "close" to NZ so booked concert tickets and flights to the first Melbourne gig the day they were released.
Worked out better in a few ways I think.  Spent a few days around Melbourne, stayed with my sister and enjoyed the awesome concert.  I didn't have any issues with the sound.  Maybe it depended on where you were located.
I'm definitely another huge fan of Dr May and Red Special.  Hearing that combination live was a life long goal given I was 10 when they last toured near here.  Was well worth it.  laughing

I found it a bit puzzling to see people wander out right in the middle of the show to buy food and drinks.
Either they were really hungry or not dedicated fans.  Maybe they realised too late that there was no break as it was only
Queen and no opening act.
