Hi

The previous thread was closed so I thought I will start this again.

I went to the concert on 4 Sept at Auckland Vector Arena

I love Queen and never got the chance to see them play live with Freddie, and this was this
next best thing.

I thoroughly enjoyed the show and I think Adam Lambert was great as I was fan since he appeared on American Idol.

here is a link with pics of the concert on 3rd Sept.

cheers

Yes, the concert was great and I'm not even a Queen fan.

They also managed to have good quality sound which is not always the case in Vector Arena.

I went on the 3rd. It was fantastic. Hearing Brian May's Red Special live was fantastic and something I never thought would happen!

I went to the Thursday show,
I did not know if I should go or not as know-one can replace Freddie, I had never heard of Adam Lambert, my wife on the other hand went weak at the knees.

I decided to go as it could be the concert of a liftime, and I was right to go, Adam was great, Brian was amazing but for me it was Roger Taylors night, he was super high energy drumming all night, also his son was amazing.

The sound was pretty bloody good and given the chance I would go see them again.

Cheers
John

And he was totally stuffed at the end of it, rightly so too!

Thanks for the link to the photos, great to see.
I also went on the Thursday night and really enjoyed it. I have been a Quuen fan for years and was pleased to see them live (most of them anyway). Adam Lambert was good but Brian May was amazing.

We went to the Friday night Melbourne show at Rod Laver Arena (booked before Auckland was announced...) and thought the sound wasn't that great...

Still a great concert :)

Went to the Wednesday show..................totally rocked.

Was not fussed about Adam Lambert , was there to see and hear the remaining Queen original band play live, but must admit He won me over a bit. Will never replace Freddie, but he did it his way, and was very good.

Sound quality where we were was not good. But wasn't a game breaker.

But the highlight was still hearing Brian May play on the Red Special, no one sounds like him, is such a signature sound.

Was hard to sing with the lump in the throat for "Love of My Life."

Yes and I'm not a rugby fan either and as for cricket, paint dries faster than that game.... :)

I went to the Wednesday night concert and it was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. A lifelong dream to see Queen live and I'll never forget it. He may not be Freddie but Adam Lambert is a phenomenal front man in his own right.

I'm a big Queen fan but wasn't sure about Adam Lambert being on vocals as not a fan of him at all. Like your photos and was nice of them to show Freddie.

Great photos.  What camera/mobile did you use
I was seated on the side and took a few using my LG G2, but not as sharp as yours.

Wished there was more audience participation for the sing-alongs  and also for the Kiwi classic Hey Now - Crowded House I recollect,  that Brian May played.

An expensive concert for both of us as we flew from CHC, but very rewarding.
Being a fan, I will be biassed towards anything Queen related   He he .

cheers

Thanks. Was nothing flash. Just a Casio Exilim digital camera that I got about 6 years ago (took it around Europe in mid 2009 and I'd had it for about a year before that I think). Think it's 8MP. It's taken pretty good photos for me over the years.

Sing-alongs were pretty good up where we were, but we didn't get the Crowded House song on the first night. I flew up from Wellington and went with my brother who lives in Auckland so stayed the night on his couch. Virtually everyone on my flight back the next day was wearing a t shirt bought at the concert.
