tradertim: thanks I just pushed through an enquiry.
I know enough to be dangerous
Nudibranch: Just chiming in...
We got a Paradox about a year ago. It was a bumpy ride at first with a combination of Paradox having to re-write some email string and also it seemed the security company hadn't installed an IP module before but over all pretty happy with it. Run the app which I think is too expensive ($13 I think) but really it's good enough. The alarm emails when there's an issue. Seems pretty robust and is a pleasure to use. Can even install your own images as screen savers on the touch panel. It's super easy to work with zones if you need to bypass etc.
A short time ago, we had been doing renovations so had a few zones bypassed while relocating some sensors. At completion I tested the alarm after not being used for a month or so. It was polling but not getting a reply and thus failed to register with Paradox Myhome and the App wouldn't work. They had changed something at their end and our alarm nedded re-registering. The annoying thing was I couldn't fix it myself as it had to be done by the licensed technician blah blah blah. The installers were pretty good and attempted to use Teamviewer to remote in but, being on Mac is a massive brick wall. The Paradox software is Windows only. The tech had to come out and do it but was fine. A 2 minute job.
Less headaches if you've got a PC.
Really it's pretty sweet. Best of luck with it all.
Nudibranch: Ummmm think it was about $2300 including install. (Auckland prices)
