Gilco2: I better run a sweepstake as to how long he lasts before being rolled by David Parker. I certainly cant see he will be leader at next election as there is still too much infighting and unrest in the party

This.

Another leadership debate will scare away what little support Labour have left. In order to win an election a party must be united and have strong leadership.

Good policies (or bad ones )are completely irrelevant without strong leadership in place first.

Doing your best is much more important than being the best.

Did a quick Google and couldn't find what you're on about.

Your kidding right? You have never heard of one of the largest unions in NZ, its referred to as EPMU, stands for Engineering printing and manufacturing union.

And its the first Google result when you search for 'EPMU union'. You must be using a different 'type' of Google...

The only way I would ever vote for labour (and i do swing from right to left sometimes) is if Grant was voted leader with Jacinda as his deputy.
Labour/Unions/people seems to be voting for the same old boys club each time these leadership things come up. I just wish Jacinda had a little more experience as she is completely different to anything we have seen for years and I feel she connects to a bigger range of people.
I would have been happy with Grant as Jacinda would have got experience for later :)

I agree re Jacinda. Re Grant, despite what NZers say on surveys, to a TV question etc, when they get in the booth to cast their vote, "they" wont vote for a gay PM...

And this is the thing that gets me, 2 white guys over 35 would vote for her where we would not vote for Andrew Little because we are sick of the boys club in labour.
Now Nathan I have no idea how you normally vote but I am more right than left but it depends on the leader of the party and what good they can do, and for labour I see it in her.

Maybe next time time round she will run :)

Too soon for Jacinda Ardern she needs more experience. Put her in prematurely especially when the Party is stuffed would wreck her career.

MikeAqua: Andrew Little has taken the labour leadership.

His ranking in the three electoral colleges (% = weighting)

Caucus (40%): 4/4
Party (40%): 2/4
Affiliates ie Trade Unions (20%): 1/4

He was the caucus's least preferred candidate but now he is their leader.

Seems viable.

Grant has said he's never running again, let's see if that's still true in a few years. The other two kept quiet.

I couldn't really see myself voting Labour, however I agree with your assessment of who should have won. It doesn't bode well that the unions got Little across the line really.
