I have to agree.. Geekzone is one of the very few places that actually show quality advertising and not those sh!tty spammy ads that most websites these days show!

You can pay via Internet Banking if that suits you better! :-)

You can? Did not know that

It's been on the yellow banner at the top of every page on Geekzone for how many days I can't even remember! [Bank Deposit] Lol

Maybe Geekzone should have a special one day where everyone gets to trial the ad-free version to see what it's like, people might love it so much that they actually subscribe because they get a taste of how good and fast it could be : )

That didn't seem to turn off the ads for me

I think most people would know of alternative ways to get an ad-free version of Geekzone if they really wanted to without paying...

It's a nice way to contribute something while blocking the ad's anyway

Know of, yes - actually do it - not all (including myself and many others) - for obvious reasons.

Yes, I don't either. Sorry, I don't really see the point of a one day free trial then.

I have been thinking about this for a few months but never got around to it!

Thanks for the prompt.

I have messaged for the bank account details as I don't like Paypal.

Yep, we all like free but I definitely get much more than $25 value from my very frequent visits to GZ.

While we are about warm fuzzies and Christmas spirit, I would again thank all the real experts and other helpful souls who give freely of their time to help solve our problems. This also includes the company reps who jump in to directly sort out problems.  And let's not forget MF!

Wow, just about brought a tear to my eye!!!

So, to everyone here, have a good Christmas/Holiday season.

Lindsay.

I joined GZ in 2012. I've subscribed twice now. No doubt I will again.

Why? I think this is a great site and it's nice to chat to fellow Kiwis about all kinds of topics.

I've met a few geekzone people so far. I'd like to meet more in time.

Geekzone really is a fantastic resource.  I joined in 2010, but until recently, I was guilty of dipping in only when I was stumped with an NZ local technical issue, but I have always had helpful replies.  You also make an excellent point about Geekzone posters who work for the relevant companies, and who are prepared to check databases or give informed information to posters.  That's pretty special.

So I would also like to say a big thanks, and have a great Christmas to all the helpful people on this site.

Hmmm....  I think I am backing myself into a 'having to subscribe' shaped corner. :-(
