I would just get a car groomer service for my PT Cruiser. Oh, and a Chrysler 300C.

The change is welcome in the bank account...

KiwiOverseas66: saw something similar in Bangkok a few years ago. If you know Bangkok - it floods during monsoon due to a) heavy rain and b) the city is only 1 meter above sea level. Anyway - this guy was in a ferrari 355. He's speeding down a small street - spraying water over everyone (not nice). I can see him up ahead as I'm on the same street driving in the opposite direction.....in a Toyota Landcruiser. Just as he gets to the deepest part of the street - I speed up and the bow wave passes right over the top of his car. Last I saw of him in the rear view mirror the car had stalled (might have gotten some water on the electrics or worse still - sucked some water into the motor). Shame about the car.

ROFL

How much for a red submarine??!?

Perhaps old Ferrari face should have had what I have always promised my kids I would get when we win lotto - a BOATCAR!!

That would be brilliant!! I could drive into the Otago harbour at Port Chalmers, cruise down to Dunedin (missing the roadworks at Ravensbourne), out on the ramp by the rowing club and up the hill to drop my kids off at school - uber cool!!?!

If I had 500k for a car, it would prob be a Lambo, but more like an acid grey LP640. Or a Gallardo Superleggera. Fazza's are too common, Astons are cool, but too "old man, likes his cigars and slippers" for me. Porches are too boring.
And Chryslers 300C is not 500K's worth of car.
If I had $500K to spend, I'd pre order a new Dodge Challenger (due in 03/08) and use the rest to pay for tyres and fuel and speeding tickets.
And bank the last $325k

Jeffthechef: I'd get myself an Audi RS6 and an R8 :D

I saw an R8 in Chch yesterday on Manchester St - it looked amazing. Clarkson thought it was basically faultless on last week's Top Gear.

Amazingly ugly that is. It's only faultless if you're in it. If you're unfortunate to look at it, it's definitely not faultless

brucie44: me I kind of fancy the Chrysler 300c.
will buy one when win Lotto :)

So which are you - the pretentious businessman, or the drug dealing gangsta? (If the latter, you will require 22" chrome rims).

It is a nice car, but the only people I have seen drive one fit into the above two categories!

Theres always an exception to the rule - I know a guy who runs (hands on, throwing out the riff-raff and all) a rough as guts pub in the boondocks who drives one of these.
But generally, yes, the stereotype is accurate.

which is what I said at the time to the person sitting with me in the landcruiser (oh look - the worlds most expensive personal sub)! Honestly - lovely car, but not in Bangkok.  First off anything exotic tends to over heat and cook itself because its stuck in traffic and it's bloody hot (35 degrees plus during the hot season).  Secondly, anything low to the ground is going to hit a speed bump, etc - or submerge at the first sign of rain. Even in the landcruiser there were times when the water in the city streets was lapping at the bottom of the doors!

Now thats gold, hahahahahahahaha!! Good work!!

yep....how to sink a ferrari - one of those special moments!

I hadn't actually heard of the R8 till now (I thought at first you guys were talkin about the HSV Clubsport R8) but after a quick Google search, I'm with ash & jeff on this one - that thing is smoking! And for 500k you could almost get a couple of them... lol

edit: just found on YouTube the episode of Top Gear that I think ash is referring to. Hammond shows up part way through with his Carrera 2S and they end with a quarter mile drag. I wont give away the result tho... lol
