I don't believe the seller intentionally intended to mislead, hence I think the blue is unfair.

What really grinds my gears is when traders don't give you a chance to fix before leaving bad feedback. I sold a Kindle Paperwhite as a 4GB rather than the 2GB it was (i took specs from the net and didn't know they had ever changed storage size). Ended up refunding the difference but all they had to do was reach out and say I had stuffed up, instead I just got nasty feedback telling me I was a con man and had to work back from that.

I would never buy anything second hand if I could help it - especially gadgets

What if that proprietary battery is on it's last legs ? good luck sourcing a replacement

Is this a collecting thing ? I noticed it was a 'film' camera

Had this years ago with an iPaq....  found one on TM listed as being in good working condition etc, I did ask questions, all came back positive, so I purchased it. Couldnt get it to turn on unless it was in the charging/sync station. Emailed seller and asked for refund (and Ill send back unit) or partial refund to cover me buying a new battery. Answer was "No".

They got a negative from me - they still gave me a positive, and I guess from their POV, the trade did go fine. For them.

2 months later, I got given 2 more iPaqs with a heap of accessories for free........ if only I had waited.... ;)

The buyer made the mistake with their assumption, the seller did nothing dodgy here and there's no reason why they should suffer for it.

I have been suffering so badly since getting my blue face from the seller. Really put real life problems into perspective...I thought nothing could be worse...but the blue face..man that's harsh.

I went and gave him simley face last night as I thought jeez how the hell is he coping if I feel this bad.

I still think the assumption was still warranted.

No leads = USB \ AV
Charger <> Leads

You don't even plug the charger into the camera, so it cant even be classed a lead.

If your OP accurately reflected what the auction said:

heylinb4nz: >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Pink fuji film camera
No leads
Gos well
2gb memory card
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

then it doesn't indicate there was a charger included so if the photos didn't show one then there is no reasonable expectation that you'd get one.

If I'm looking at stuff on TradeMe and I don't know all the specs myself I'll always do a bit of Google research. If I find anything like proprietary batteries that need a particular charger then I can ask the seller a question to see if that's included and, if it isn't, I can look around at whether I can find one somewhere and (if so) how much it will cost, and this added expense then gets factored into how much I'm prepared to bid on the auction.

To me the charger is that critical a part that it warrants specific mention (if missing) as opposed to being bundled in with "leads"

Knowing it had proprietary battery before buying and the statement "Goes well" would indicate it me has been charged thus a charger is available.

vs

Battery currently flat (charger missing) but went well when last used.

At the moment it only powers on for 3 seconds before shutting down...so how would I as the buyer know that it goes well ? how would the seller know ?.

Looking at the rest of what the seller sells it looks like they get stuff from inorganic collections or similar and sell them.

I reckon you were mislead.

I'd have thought the same thing, no leads means the AV leads.

The charger is so important to the function of the camera they should have stated no charger.

A charger is not a lead, incidentally.   It is an ac adapter black plastic box that converts from 240v to DC .

I reckon they were hoping to be vague enough that the buyer would not notice.

As others said, it is possibly stolen.
