Rikkitic: Don't like it, also got lost, also complained, not too worried because with all the other alternatives now out there I hardly use Trade Me any more.

Alternatives? For instance?

Ferrit and Wheedle are the two I use.

muppet: I hardly noticed it.
It could be better I suppose, but it's TM.

I just want them to implement the following features:

1. If a question has the words "is there a buy now" or "will you swap for" it blacklists the user automatically.
2. If the previous feature is triggered, for an extra $10 you can have a turd in a box mailed the to person asking the question.

Team "punch people who ask for a buy now"!

But is there a buy now? :p

Looks like it was designed by a committee rather than a design professional.

The "will you swap it for" ones really are silly sometimes.

I noticed that the guy who setup wheedle died a few weeks ago. Ferrit I recall was a telecom thing. It was perhaps a little ahead of it's time. If it was done right it could have been successful, you only have to look at sites like Fishpond and Mightape, to see how it should be done.

Chrome request desktop site does not work. No change there and there is a link but I would really like it to work. I assume this fails in safari also.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Is it just me or did TM reverse the changes a few minutes ago?
Perhaps 'a few unhappy users'  was actually a lot more than that.

They've changed the auctions back.  The ugly front page from 2005 is still there.

I still see the new layout for all pages.

Maybe doing some A/B testing.

That new layout is neither cool nor convenient.

I can only imagine a newly appointed manager with the lack of trading / shopping experience and no other business ideas but changing appearance. Have seen that happening in virtual and real world for so many times - with the same result - customer dissatisfaction.

Very similar to what manager in Pack'N'Save did recently by re-shuffling all goods between shelves and sections making finding the ones you came for extremely inconvenient. The same guy maybe?
So inconvenient - they now have FTE assisting frustrated customers at where they put this or that. That will not drive more sales into the shop.

Same with Trademe - those changes surely will enable someone in the board room to boast about how many efforts they put into "improving customer experience" and surely will give a job to a developer who just followed orders and done a crap job.
From the end user veteran perspective - terrible change.
From business perspective - will not drive more sales to Trademe.
Never mind, at the end of the day what matters for me is many many positive feedbacks on Trademe and no negative feedback. Never.
Trademe themselves just had another negative one and not from me only, from quite a few here...

I do not like the new design. I agree with almost all of the negative comments that have been written in this thread. It will certainly put me off buying.

MikeB4: its functional and does what it is supposed to do

I disagree, the old site used to be like how you describe.  Now it's disjointed, hard to find things... not all change is good.

One of the fundamental mistakes they've made (though understandable) is in staggering some of the changes. This simply exacerbates the issues around inconsistency and the lack of a "logical" layout.

Yes, it needs to be changed but the way they've gone about it is flawed. They need a separate (yet complete) test site, not this drip feeding of updated features, layouts, and structures. It's a mess.

Q&A is the biggest bit I miss seeing on the page by default
