Ticket for midnight showing purchased.

I guess thinking about this, there hasn't been a movie I'd even contemplate doing that for since a long time ago...

Likewise. To be honest the last one was the Matrix 2, I sure hope this one works out better than that.

NZtechfreak: Picked up tickets for my party of 7 for a midnight screening, absolutely amped. My nearly 6 year old son will be coming along too, really looking forward to that as I remember going to Empire with my dad growing up :)

good luck with that :)  My 6 year old doesnt sit still in most kids movies, let alone a 2.5hour star wars film.

I remember queuing around the corner for Jedi at the Civic theatre in Auckland. Good times.

Not sure If I can do the midnight screening, but will see this very close to release day.

Also, was that Luke at 1.40 in the trailer (hand on R2)?

He's good with movie watching, he doesn't get to watch much TV so his attention is wrapped.

The teaser trailer suggests that, Luke is narrating it and when he says "the force is strong in my family" etc it cuts to that shot when he says "I have it".

Jaxson: It's the new Star Wars movies we all hoped the prequels would be.

You really can't say that until you've seen the movie.  Everyone was pretty excited about The Phantom Menace before they saw it too.

Abrams dumbed down Star Trek to the extreme, turned it into all action with no real story; so I'm not counting on this being anything but a forgettable sci-fi/action film.

It will almost certainly be better than the prequels, but that isn't really saying anything.

Wow, flash backs, was Jedi with my Dad.

Umm, has this film been graded yet?  Assume a PG rating, so should be ok to take young ones.  Anything with an R and they won't be attending.

Looks good. I haven't really followed any of the spoilers on the net, so will go into see it with an open mind.

I see the trailer released on YouTube on 20 October has already had almost 23 million views in only a day. Is that a record?

The record is that when I opened the trailer out was on about ~200k and then I refreshed(after an hour of watching on loop) and it was on 3.1 mill.

That blew my mind more than the freaking trailer

That is awesome.
I was six years old when dad took me to the original in 77. It's a huge part of my child hood and I am really hoping these next three movies live up to my memories.
