I saw the ad on saturday before star wars, I found it a bit funny but also in poor taste.  The kid beside me loved it until he found out they were dead singing animals.

I love the way when someone disagrees with a decision NZ is a Nanny State.....

This decision must have had a Huuuuuuuugggggeeeeee impact on people.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

People getting offended by it is probably good for the ad, more people will be wanting to see it now and it'll get shared with social media (notice that Toyota hasn't requested that the video be taken down). Toyota's been losing the race against the Ford Ranger so they'll be trying anything to get their sales up again.

not sure, it just cements the idea that Toyota is not the brand of car for me, I'll stick with Mazdas.

I personally found this ad offensive, but lots of people didn't. With other content in the media the opposite is often true.

Ultimately advertisers have to gauge public opinion for themselves and make their own commercial decisions based on that, as Toyota did in this case. That's much better than having a government agency like Advertising Standards trying to draw lines around things that are enormously subjective.

I thought the ad simply missed the mark. They were trying to be funny, and did not succeed.

I think it should have been pulled down solely for it's crap CGI. Bit of a sick mind to come up with that sort of advert, talking corpses making big speeches. It is typical shock jock marketing. It has probably paid for itself in the publicity it is getting.

Forget the PC or not angle. It just wasn't funny or entertaining.

(and the new Hilux still can't hold a candle to the Ranger in the looks department).

Ranger: Stuff: "Using natural voice commands, like "temperature 20 degrees", "play AC/DC" or "I'm hungry", the driver can control the car's climate controls, entertainment system and navigation system more easily than ever before."

"I'm hungry"? What happens then?

A fully kitted out 2015 Wildtrak is magnificent. Not sure about the 2016 half open eyes. But I'd hate to own a car that breaks as soon as the warranty runs out.
