Don't be rude to these people. Most of them are standard Indian call centre employees following a script for a call centre company that also takes contracts for multinational corporations. They may be in possession of your personal information and can do much more than be rude back. It gives them a further sense of vindication that ripping you off is just and right.

If they are taking data from their legit job, to then go somewhere else to use that data to scam people, I would certainly seek legal advice on this.

So we should be polite to criminals so they don't commit worse crimes? 'Thank you, Mr Burglar for only emptying my house and not sticking a knife into me. You are such a considerate thief.'

Something seems a little turned around here.

I agree -- as much abuse as possible should be thrown at them. They should NOT be doing what they're doing. Although it won't deter them, but it's a great way to get rid of bottled up anger.

Trying to locate so many that is one of about 10 million in the size of Auckland with corrupt cops that don't care? Yeah right, they can't even find one of a few million who blew up an airport.

My best was one of these guys who I got to ask me, if "I was wasting his time" ( I deliberately read back a sequence of numbers to them incorrectly), this was 15 minutes of pretending to be stupid, into the call.

My reply was that "yes, I was trying to waste as much time of his as possible", as I knew it was a scam right from the get go.

I got several "points" from the abuse category, and loved every minute.

Just obeying orders huh?

I'll be as rude as I can - these people have ripped off my elderly relative and dented their confidence in using a computer.  They need to be left in no doubt that what they are doing is criminal and immoral

Are they still wanting remote access or they just direct victims to a credit card payment page?
