surfisup1000:

Join the coffee club vip for around $10 (when on promotion) and get 2 hot drinks for the price of one.

Simple half price would be better, but at least my coffees only cost $2.65 each when with the partner and they make fairly decent coffee.

@surfisup1000

Yep, you can also buy yourself a gift card and save 20%.

https://shop.thecoffeeclub.co.nz/shop/coffee-club-gift-card/

Enter promo code: SKYGIFT20 - not sure if you're required to prove you're a Sky customer.

But it's Auckland and we all know that the best coffee in Aotearoa is in Wellington. we know this, it's a fact. innocent

So I keep hearing. However they built the Sky Tower so Aucklanders could see if there was intelligent life south of the Bombays and so far haven't observed any! :-D

I don't recall the last time I had a Hot Chocolate under $4, and a lot of places, even off the beaten path are $5-6. At those prices I no longer really drink a lot of HC.

The McDonalds on the North Shore are doing hot chocolates for $1 at the moment, don't know if that is the case over the bridge though.

kryptonjohn: .... Note also the $10 scotch fillet lunch deal - happy days!

That $10 scotch filltet has stayed the same price for over four years now. Glad to see it's still going.

Has it stayed the same size? More than one way to skin a cat, or facilitate an increase of revenue!

It was a decent size - enough for a lunch serving. Maybe 20mm thick so more a slice than a slab.

There is a coffix in Welly corner of Featherston and Ballance, which supposedly does good coffee and cranks them out.

Not my end of town for work or home so that is hear-say.

Bunnings cafe @ Tower Junction in Christchurch. Small, Medium and Large coffees for $2.50, $3.00 and $3.50 respectively. Decent coffee for the price however they serve them in take away cups only. (albeit biodegradable/compostable ones)

I know there are other Bunnings cafes around the country so the prices may be the same.

Raglan Roast does decent coffee - $3.00 for white and $2.50 for black. They also have a book you can prepay coffees in for a slight discount (I believe 50c per coffee). Remember I used to pay $2.25 for a quad shot espresso from the book.

jen1001: Coffix are good! The one just around the corner from Symonds St and K Road in Auckland CDB is great, the girl behind the counter has awesome customer service :)

My first thought was there must be an attraction here, but then I see the username Jen and start wondering if Jen is the girl behind the counter. wink

Who knows, I don't know her name but I think she's the franchise owner lol. No freebie for me by mentioning it either, no relation to me whatsoever laughing

Be hard to make skinned cat meat look like scotch fillet.

Horse though...

Wellington - Midnight Espresso cuba street has long black for $2.50 .

Same price as 1990-something.

Re beer prices, I'm onboard with the disbelief. I sometimes meet an old pal who , along with his regular friday night crew, get happy hour prices all night ($6) . This unfortunately , is an exception.

I suspect that after you skinned, gutted and boned a cat of average build, there wouldn't be much left to present as a steak.

By volume they are mostly fur - as anyone who has seen a saturated cat will know.
