Hi all, over at the SkyTV thread there came up some off-topic discussion of $3 coffees, and some were surprised that such a thing exists in this day and age.

Well here's one in the Auckland CBD - $3, or even $2 for a barista coffee if it's with the $10 bacon and eggs which I treated myself this morning.

This is next door to the Empire Tavern in Akl Nelson St. Note also the $10 scotch fillet lunch deal - happy days!

I don't recall the last time I had a Hot Chocolate under $4, and a lot of places, even off the beaten path are $5-6. At those prices I no longer really drink a lot of HC.

What the Hell is a $3 coffee?
I know what a $5 coffee is and a $6 one but not a $3 one.

Edit, Bloody heck they have some good prices that one would expect to pay. Not $16 for stale bread, cage eggs and see through bacon like most places!

If it makes you feel better to make comments like that, then good for you.

If Coffee is $5 a cup, it makes my point even more valid.

/me shakes my head.

last time I waited 10mins to get my coffee there, 3 people in front of me.

there're other places in CBD area with $3 coffee, but most of them do 10 for $30 pre-pay cards. or loyalty cards ($4 each coffee) with every 6th coffee free, etc.

But yeah paid $11.50 for 2 large flat whites in Taupo last Saturday :(

Coffix are good! The one just around the corner from Symonds St and K Road in Auckland CDB is great, the girl behind the counter has awesome customer service :)

My first thought was there must be an attraction here, but then I see the username Jen and start wondering if Jen is the girl behind the counter. wink

That $10 scotch filltet has stayed the same price for over four years now. Glad to see it's still going.

It's not exactly the finest scotch fillet I've ever had but pretty damn good for $10. Unsurprisingly they buy it by the truck load. Friday lunch time the place is packed and seems like most people are eating it!

I wish some of these places would set up in Grey Lynn! We are starved of decent food options down this way near Great North Road.

Join the coffee club vip for around $10 (when on promotion) and get 2 hot drinks for the price of one.

Simple half price would be better, but at least my coffees only cost $2.65 each when with the partner and they make fairly decent coffee.
