there was no intent to defraud your ex friend, it was an honest mistake if they have any issues with your version of events they can take it to court if they want to cry over 10.99.
Thanks mate. I had no idea the very old payments were there, let alone they could be used, let alone they could use an expired card, let alone I didnt ask them too.
Done all I can now. But lesson for future use of amazon. If your friend uses your account, delete the payment method immediately. Of course all this was well before they had streaming services and my expectation I would ever use one.
Trying to explain I didnt join the trial with that card was like hitting my head against the wall, because thats all they can see is the last transaction.
Its pretty sloppy billing policy, they should not be using inactive payment methods, to them active is any payment method in the system, to me inactive is any credit card expired and or not used to for the service signed up to, but subsequently used for billing by default.
Your ex friend should be more worried about how / why their credit card provider allowed an expired card to be used.

Thats what I wanted to do, but last time we spoke was 12 years ago. We no longer friends and I cant even see them on FB so got no contact details.
I found it all very comical in the end. Amazon trying to tell me this was the card I used to setup the trial, I was like NO, you cant use an expired card, yet some how you managed to use it to renew the trial. They really need to stop this auto renew with any payment method available. Its DODGY.
Was a lesson for me though, make sure you cancel trials well before they end.
