So far, when I've asked for Coke Zero most people know what I mean.  I imagine it may be like people referring to Spark/Telecom or any other business that rebrands every so often...

When Telecom rebranded as Spark they were still the same company.

Coke Zero and Coke No Sugar are not the same thing. It's a bit like saying Spark when you mean Vodafone.

Oddly its part of that banner. Or one of them is a sticker. Easier to cut the end of it off with the picture, branding is still heavy without

And last time I checked, it was almost a staple pairing at LANs and so forth and the geek movement in general to have some sort of alcohol and or caffeinated beverage in large quantities within reach. So figured there is some relevance. Albeit vague.

Yep - IT departments.  A collection of stimulated invigorated braniacs never prone to hysteria.

That's true.  I guess what I meant is that even though it's been called Spark for many years, if people accidentally say "Telecom" most people know they mean Spark.  If I ask for Coke Zero, people in the shops know I mean "the sugar free coke which isn't diet coke."

I guess we should be glad they didn't go completely literal and call it "Coke Sugar", "Coke Aspartme", "Coke Phenylalanine."

I limit my coke consumption to very special occasions and will only drink the original, never post-mix and only from a can or glass bottle.

From Coca-colacompany.com:

Like Coke Zero, Coke Zero Sugar is sweetened with aspartame and acesulfame K. We only tweaked the blend of natural flavors, which are proprietary to Coca-Cola, so the ingredient list on the Nutrition Facts Panel on cans and bottles is the same (visit Coca-Cola Product Facts for the details). Simply put, we’ve made the great taste Coke Zero fans love even better and a lot like a Coke.

So the correct could possibly be saying Spark when you mean Skinny, or the other way around. :D

More like choosing between a Bolar roast and a Topside roast. Or between a Gala apple and a Royal gala apple.

Coke No Sugar and Coke Zero are both the same insofar as they both taste crap wink

Ditto the original Coke, I find the other sweeteners leave a funny aftertaste.

I actually prefer my original Coke with a splash/squirt of lemon juice - cuts down the sweetness just a tad to make it more palatable.

I'd rather drink real Coke, less often, than bastardised Coke more often!

And I would also drink Cherry Coke but they do not really sell that here for some reason.

I used to be addicted to Diet Coke, then Coke Zero, then Pepsi Max. I now don't drink any of the stuff - not because I think the chemicals will kill me, but because I was simply addicted to the stuff.
