Don't wish to boast (OK, I do) but idly had a TV Series in my basket at Amazon US which would have been imported from UK to US and that had 4 shipping options.

(they wouldn't post it to NZ though)

So, I wonder if it is by coincidence that a price of Prime is going up, and therefore, to encourage uptake, "Standard Shipping" becomes less common and generally more expensive.

Some people bought this up on gpforums as well. They had a chat with Amazon support and they said its an intentional change due to standard shipping being untracked items were getting lost or stolen easy.

Either that or they couldn't find any other carrier as slow, cheap and useless as iParcel to replace them

With regards to people seeing the standard shipping options available, yes it appears to show for items sold by third party sellers. But if it is sold by Amazon I'm not seeing it on anything since 2 weeks ago.

Had 3 shipping options: Standard International (no tracking), AmazonGlobal Expedited, and AmazonGlobal Priority.

i get standard shipping on that item, but something i have brought before which had standard shipping no longer does like an anker USB C cable

That sucks, might not come back in a hurry. I guess with low margins one lost package kills the profit from many good deliveries.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that Amazon had dropped US Postal after Trump's comments about Amazon using them. US Postal will be the loser here as Amazon did a lot of business with them.

After sending a complaint email, I had a call from the Amazon customer exec department, surprised to get a direct phonecall on Fri. I explained the situation that Standard shipping has disappeared for NZ, and the opposite is happening over in Aus they only had the standard shipping option no expedited/priority. She advised will get it investigated and get back to me.

Yesterday I see Standard shipping has been restored! So thats great, hope its fixed permanently.

An item I had been wanting to purchase only had fast and super fast shipping options which pushed the price to more than I wanted to pay.
Just checked now and regular postage is now listed again which makes the price of the item acceptable.
