What happened to the lady who used to do it? I don't like the current guy at all. Did TV1 think it was okay to have a woman at the helm when nobody watched it on Sunday morning, but now that it is in a 'prime time' slot it has to be steered by a male?

The gender of the presenter has nothing to do with the timeslot of the programme. Keep in mind that, in the past, it has been hosted in the morning by Paul Holmes and Greg Boyed, not to mention Simon Dallow as a fill-in host - as somebody else pointed out.

Fair enough but I still don't like the present one. I think Simon Dallow would probably do well.

Groucho:

Good to see the broadcasters are upping their game to secure their NZ on Air contestable funding to maximise their viewers.  Over the years TVNZ and Mediaworks (The Nation) have got funding to make these political shows but then bury them when nobody watches on weekend mornings.  The cynic in me suspects they apply for and get tax payer funding to make these shows which then lead their news cycles and have other networks pick up soundbites.  At least TVNZ after years have decided to give it a go when people might have a hope of watching it live.

I use to watch it on Sunday morning and if not live - on the plus 1 channel. 930 on Sunday is too late for the grandpa... usually watching something more "light"...
