What happened to the lady who used to do it? I don't like the current guy at all. Did TV1 think it was okay to have a woman at the helm when nobody watched it on Sunday morning, but now that it is in a 'prime time' slot it has to be steered by a male?

Jess Mutch became TVNZ's Political Eitor, so is now based in the Gallery in Wellington

+ I'd hardly call 9:30 on a Sunday "prime time"

You do draw some weird conclusions at times. Maybe she moved on to another role, decided she wanted to do something else? Didn't enjoy the work?

Also has to be said that Corryn Dan is a relatively good journalist - by current standards.

Glad she's moved on to better things. I still don't like her replacement.

Prime time is what they are calling it in their advertising blurbs.

But by current standards I think a 6 year old is a good journalist.

That wasn't sarcasm, it was exasperation.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

I don't question his journalistic competence but he has a very irritating (to my ear) manner of speaking and he is a little too aggressive in his questioning, constantly cutting the subjects off while they are trying to reply. I realise this is largely a matter of taste but I find him unpleasant to listen to and will probably not bother in the future, though I did watch the programme fairly regularly on Sunday mornings.

You mean like the time you felt a need to show me how Google works?

Right. Exactly. That was also exasperation and not sarcasm.

And what was it exactly that so exasperated you? I look up things on Google all the time. I chose to ask that question on the thread because I was curious to know what the people there would say about it.

Well yes I am sure you don't know about Google searches or any search engine

Some people are just easily exasperated.

Good to see the broadcasters are upping their game to secure their NZ on Air contestable funding to maximise their viewers.  Over the years TVNZ and Mediaworks (The Nation) have got funding to make these political shows but then bury them when nobody watches on weekend mornings.  The cynic in me suspects they apply for and get tax payer funding to make these shows which then lead their news cycles and have other networks pick up soundbites.  At least TVNZ after years have decided to give it a go when people might have a hope of watching it live.

I've seen Dallow interview once or twice as a stand in. I thought he was pretty good.
