My issue with them is resentment that my banana points are only redeemable for things a 5 year old would want like gaming fridge magnets etc and posters. At least let me use it for Primate.

I know companies may claim same day shipping or next day delivery but you're forgetting the fact NZ doesn't come out of it's two week nationwide shutdown until Monday.

Expecting business as normal over the past two weeks is simply not realistic.

Then they shouldn’t make promises they can’t keep. Seemed to be no delay in taking my money.

Heh, which is an automated instanteous process. Unlike delivery.  Far be it for me to talk you out of whom you spend your money with, but you wouldn't likely get a different result from any of the other NZ (or overseas retailers) at this time of the year delivering within NZ.

But they don't take payment until the item has shipped?

Yes they did

On my account, it is a pending transaction with AMEX and not a posted transaction - so no payment taken.

The account page clearly showed credit card charged, and not yet ready for shipping. If they hadn’t charged me I would have just gone somewhere else. My visa also showed payment taken first thing weds 3 Jan when shipping did not take place until the 4th

In retrospect I should have just gone bricks and mortar with a tight timeline, but I took at face value their shipping timelines when I ordered

But Wednesday was the 2nd January?

Oops. You’re right. It was thurs 3 Jan. Point still stands.

Anyways, what should have been a simple transaction ended up being quite stressful and if they had been upfront about shipping times I wouldn’t have used them, or if they had been able to be contacted at all when it was clear that they had missed shipping, then I could have cancelled and gone somewhere else.

The main point of my post was the complete inability to contact them once they had taken my money ( other than by email which was not answered until COP the following day)

No matter what, to rely on next day delivery at this time of year is pretty unrealistic no matter where it's coming from - especially relying on it for a very important item.

We started back at work on the 3rd and have had numerous problems with deliveries to us from many suppliers through many different courier companies - it is to be expected considering the holiday period.
