DarthKermit:

At least their child isn't hounded all the time unlike the royal kids.

But the NZ Herald (Shabby Little Tabloid) Headline this morning was;

"New Zealand's Own 'Royal' Wedding"

in reference to the PM's future nuptials. So your comment may be premature.

Must be a slow news day and the sooner the whole thing disappears behind the paywall the better.

eracode: What annoys me is that she will certainly get a kicker in the polls before and after the wedding - which has nothing to do with how well you can run a country.

Sadly this can be applied to lots of other events relating to politicans on both sides of the house. I don't see the harm in politicans carrying on with their lives. Shoud voters use non-poltical information to make political decisions, as a demoracy we can't do much about that. Voters will always be influenced by things that should make no differnce. In reality irrelevant info do make a difference to voters, particually those who are uneducated and thus fall back onto what they do understand to influence their decisions. Sad reality that I too deplore but I accept there is nothing much that can be done about it.

All the best to Jacinda. Won't be easy being a PM, bringing a baby into the world, getting married, and everything else she is juggling. I wouldn't want to be in her shoes thats for sure so I tip my hats off to her.
