Weather that's not too hot, not too cold, the right amount of rain to keep everything green and growing.

For police to stop focusing on speed and more on harmful behavior like running red lights and cellphone use.

The tabloid and subsequent public hysteria over road deaths is sucking attention and resources from any number of issues which deserve more focus. Yes, 600+ deaths to RTA isn't good, but there are so many things that cause more death, more harm, more anguish and have a more deleterious effect on societal happiness that should be addressed first.

2 in 1 hair shampoo, that's not anti-dandruff treatment.

Used to be readily available, but now it seems they are only available as separate items. It's a con to sell you more product.

Trivial, but it bugs me ...

Given that wind is not part of your criteria - Wellington is your place 😀

Some of the coldest I've ever been is in Wellington. The wind makes it much worse.

At least in Canterbury, it's a dry cold most of the time.

Which is why I discounted the wind factor - but seriously Wellington itself (excluding Hutt Valley etc) doesn't really get extremes of temperature in either direction. Even in the current spell of cool weather, the overnight temperatures have not been lower than 5°C

To start, I wish that our authorities would make as much effort to combat phone scams as they devote to child pornography. The latest are robot calls informing that one's Internet is about to be cancelled unless you press 1. This will probably cause some old people a lot of distress. For the rest of us it is just tiresome. Surely something could be done about this kind of thing, either nationally or internationally, if there was a will to commit sufficient resources to it?

Returning to the above, this is highly relevant.

For customer service resolutions like this (not me - I copied it from today's paper):

"Conversely, you have supplied me with overwhelming evidence that Metro Bank staff let you down abysmally in the wake of this fraud. The lack of care you were shown was truly shameful.

To give Metro Bank its due it now admits it failed you and has expressed its sincere apologies. It said you were put through to the wrong team when you visited the branch, which was its own mistake.

It didn’t refund you because it said you received a text containing a code, with wording saying you were setting up a new payee. You were instructed that if you were not setting up a payee you should not divulge the code to anyone, but you read it out to the fraudster regardless.

However, Metro Bank added that it does appreciate that fraudsters’ methods are becoming more elaborate and convincing. I’m pleased to say that following my involvement Metro Bank has put its money where its mouth is by refunding you the full £54,000."

Financial compensation for commuters adversely affected by public transport cancellations or significant delays.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?
