I forgot to mention that I only use the Philips on my bony dome. The face gets Gillette Fusion.

Re shaving heads, I noticed when I was trolling Ali that there are several 5x head shavers, made specifically for skinheads.

Rather than concave like the S5050, the heads appear to be convex, so they'd probably fit knobbly skulls a little better.

I think a dedicated Noggin-denuder is the way to go...get a good one and also buy some spare blades while you're at it...just in case they discontinue them.

Yeah, good call. Especially as it'll be perpetual summer soon, so bald heads'll be de rigueur. Along with dangling corks on wide-brimmed hats.

I don't know how cheap the replacement parts will be, but try https://sakit.co.il.

They were able to deliver a replacement head-holder-plate and cutters for my ageing, NZ-bought but made-for-Malaysia Philishave for a lot less than the local appliance repair shop (who weren't interested anyway).

I just went back to using a wet razor on the bonce a few weeks back.

Much closer and more satisfying, but obviously takes more time and you have to keep on doing it before it gets too long again.

Been buying the "Headblade" razor and blades - works well.

Thanks. Couldn't see any parts for S5050 (S50). The stuff that was there seemed expensive, if I got the exchange rate right, 280 for a kit, which is, apparently, NZD $123
